Pour on tap at the brewery, dark brownish black pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of sweet caramel, toffee, nice roasted bitterness with some coffee, smoky notes coming through, slight hints of cocoa. Taste is nice, some smoke, oak, hints of chocolate, sweet caramel notes, finishing with a hint of bitter roasted malts with coffee as well. onceblind (10542) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 8, 2012
Clearish black with a thin khaki head. Lovely aroma of smoky toasty chocolate, toasted rye, and some rustic toffee with a big roasted black grain bill. Taste is nice and earthy and chocolaty sweet, with some rustic toffee earthiness, a bit of cocoa, some dark toasty black grains, and a nice calm finish of subtly spicy earthy rye.
