On tap at the brewery, Durham. Not a style I’m overly fond of, particularly not in August, when the brewery released it. Something about the peat and malt does complement the hippie beef, hard to deny. But the look and mouthfeel are underdeveloped, and there’s something about the beer that doesn’t quite have enough personality - ashy one minute, sugary the next.

Tap at the brewery. Soft clean copper pour with one finger of sandy tan head. Nice nose, citrusy hop profile. Notes of toasted grain and bread dough. Light body and citrusy flavor. Unexpected hop character. Not very Scottish at all but i enjoyed it nonetheless.

Tap at source. Tawny amber with small Off white head. Nose is light caramel, ash, sharp hops. Flavor is water, some light butter, caramel and toffee, light brown sugar.
