Taps clear copper with a good buff head. Aroma delivers toasted malt and caramel, not strong but inviting. Flavor offers bread malt plus sure fruity, caramel and resiny hop tones. Mouthfeel presents typical body and nice fizz. A bonnie beer. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - OCT 3, 2012
On tap at the brewery, Durham. Not a style I’m overly fond of, particularly not in August, when the brewery released it. Something about the peat and malt does complement the hippie beef, hard to deny. But the look and mouthfeel are underdeveloped, and there’s something about the beer that doesn’t quite have enough personality - ashy one minute, sugary the next. emacgee (4711) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - SEP 7, 2012
Tap at the brewery. Soft clean copper pour with one finger of sandy tan head. Nice nose, citrusy hop profile. Notes of toasted grain and bread dough. Light body and citrusy flavor. Unexpected hop character. Not very Scottish at all but i enjoyed it nonetheless. TURDFERGUSON (4068) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - AUG 31, 2012
Tap at source. Tawny amber with small
Off white head. Nose is light caramel, ash, sharp hops. Flavor is water, some light butter, caramel and toffee, light brown sugar.
