On draught at BCBB. Pours dark brown, nearly black with a small tan head. Nose of sweet malts, milk chocolate, coffee, some lacto notes. Taste adds sweetness. A simple sweet stout but nothing wrong with that. Easy drinking. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - OCT 13, 2012
On tap at the brewpub, Durham. Medium brown pour, not as hefty or substantial looking as I expect from this style. Nose somewhat less dry and roasty than I prefer too, almost like a beefed up brown more than a stout. But while it was predictably thinnish in mouthfeel, the flavors were more promising than the aroma, with healthier roasts and deep chocolate, along with a touch of grit on the finish. Redeemed, barely. maxwelldeux (4374) - Snohomish, Washington, USA - OCT 7, 2012
Draught in a flight at the brewpub. Poured a dark brown with a small head to it. I found it to be smooth and light, though not extremely flavorful for the style. Nice little hints of sweetness to it, but not much else. DiarmaidBHK (4777) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 12, 2012
Draft at brewpub. Pours black with a thin khaki head that leaves no lacing. A hint of roasted malt on the nose. Iím not getting a ton of lactose on the tongue and only a hint of the malt. Eh! emacgee (4674) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - SEP 7, 2012
Sampled at the brewery. Pours coppery brown, sitting near black. Nose shows a nice roast and graham cracker character. Light sweetness and diacetyl with some fruit skins showing through. Reminds me of homebrewed stouts. Lacks the structure I look for in a stout (if that makes sense....). Hard to put my finger on what it was but this one didnít do it for me.

Tap at Bull City. Dark brown with medium sized tan head. Nose is light cocoa, roast, coffee, a bit nutty. More chocolate, coffee, roast, in the flavor, pretty thin bodied and easy drinking. Would like to come back for another pint.
