It pours a nice dark black and yields the same color body. A very nice half inch off-white/tan head appears and lasts for a good minute before dieing into the body. Moderate spider web lacing appears. The smell has the chocolate in front with some dark roasted coffee beans. The taste has pretty much the same smells combined very nicely in a smokey sort of way. The mouthfeel is smooth, yet heavy and feels great on my tongue. Overall, this is good for its style and for me. hbmason (1086) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - MAY 5, 2012
500 ml. Bottle pour. Pitch black with a light tan head. Nice robust chocolate porter. Very drinkable. Nice complexity. j12601 (12977) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - JUL 15, 2012
Bottle thanks to Paul at a tasting at Paul’s. Pours a deep brown to black with a very thin white beige head around the edges. A touch of smoke and chocolate and a bit of dry cocoa. Medium bodied, sweet and chocolaty, cocoa, chocolate, warm alcohol, roast. Warming alcohol into a long bitterness on the finish. Nice stuff. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - MAR 24, 2012

On tap in Bar Harbor. Pours a deep dark brown with a largish tan head and aromas of chocolate and coffee. Flavor is chocolate with a tartness to it like plum pit meat or something like that. It’s interesting. porterhouse (1580) - Boothbay, Maine, USA - MAR 3, 2012
(500 ml from Oak Street Provisions) Very dark brown with a small tan head that recedes to mostly just a ring around edges. Aroma is mostly fruity, sort of cherry-like, along with lighter note of chocolate. Mouthfeel medium-full, smooth, slight fizz, milk-shake. Light syrupy film and weepy, broken rings of lacing that melt away. Flavor of fruit, a bit cherry-like over dark, bitter chocolate with a hint of roast. Touch of grassiness appears sometimes in the finish. ABV well-integrated. Pretty tasty, but lacks much complexity. jkwood04 (5452) - Connecticut, USA - JUN 4, 2012
Sampled at the 2012 American Craft Beer Festival. Pours dark, and this is very sweet for a beer of this style. Not bad though. boto (2261) - Granby, Connecticut, USA - DEC 30, 2012
500ml bottle: This one pours a dark, inky brown color. There was very little tan head on it, and it left no lacing. The aroma is nice. Chocolate malts, some roastiness. The taste is also pretty good. Medium bodied, chocolate and roastiness. Nice balance between the two. A very decent porter. italarican (1549) - Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 14, 2012
Bottle at Paul’s. Tootsie roll flavors with grainy, corn sweetness. Cocoa and grains with a subtle lactic acid finish.
