COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bulldog is an award winning strong ale that was first brewed for the export market in 1947. The traditional recipe and maturing process of "warm conditioning" which takes place after fermentation, has been deliberately retained to preserve the strength and quality. The beer is dry hopped and the distinctive mellow flavour of Bulldog Strong Ale allowed to develop slowly.

Bottle @ home, gift from my uncle Ino. Clear orange golden color, medium sized white head that lasts for a decent while. Smell and taste malts, a hint of dark fruit, lightly sweet, a hint of bitter. Decent body and carbonation. Ah well, it’s decent enough.

Una strong ale decisa. Ben strutturata e molto corposa, rotonda. Aromi caramellati e di cereali, a tratti erbacei. al palato caramello e biscotto e buona amarezza dei luppoli

Nice amber colour and the one-finger thick head, but quite lacking a distinct aroma, out the 330ml it smells like a cheap supermarket beer honestly. Fortunately tastes better, even if it has a very strong bitter end for the first sips.

UPDATED: NOV 27, 2014 330ml bottle served in a tulip glass. Enjoyed in Italy. A: Pours a dark orange to amber color. Clear. Forms a medium yellow creamy and persistent head. Lots of spotty lacings left in the glass S: Strong caramel in the nose. Quite fruity too. Notes of wood and scotch. flowery hops T: Sweet upfront. Quite bitter end. Strong notes of toffee, caramel malts, wood, scotch malts. Nice bitter stingy end M: Medium body. Medium carbonation. Hoppy bitter end O: Good drinkability. Good scotch malt character. Not bad [ BA Review @ 3/30/2013 ]

Clear amber, cream head. Yeasst, cereals and caramel, light honey aroma. Light sweet taste with a hint of caramel and mature fruits, dry herbal bitter ending and strong bitter aftertaste.

Partivo senza pretese, alla fine è una birra che si fa bere, forse non vale quello che costa ma è una birra onesta, né più né meno.

33cl bottle. It pours a one-finger off-white head that fades slowly to a thin layer, leaving some lace. Clear amber color. Malty/fruity nose. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Flavor is malty with a malty/cidery finish. Decent at most, good alcohol kick

330ml bottle. Aroma is malt, nuts, dark berries. Appearance is nice amber with a small white head. Taste is sweet, light sour. A bitter and dry finish. Overall OK but not my favorite strong ale.
