COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bulldog is an award winning strong ale that was first brewed for the export market in 1947. The traditional recipe and maturing process of "warm conditioning" which takes place after fermentation, has been deliberately retained to preserve the strength and quality. The beer is dry hopped and the distinctive mellow flavour of Bulldog Strong Ale allowed to develop slowly.

33cl bottle. It pours a one-finger off-white head that fades slowly to a thin layer, leaving some lace. Clear amber color. Malty/fruity nose. Medium carbonation and medium bodied. Flavor is malty with a malty/cidery finish. Decent at most, good alcohol kick

330ml bottle. Aroma is malt, nuts, dark berries. Appearance is nice amber with a small white head. Taste is sweet, light sour. A bitter and dry finish. Overall OK but not my favorite strong ale.

Bottle from B&M Bargains. Slightly hazy orange with thin white head. Good nose with hints of vanilla, biscuits and fruit. Quite full bodied, nice malt/hop balance,I like this!

dynamiteninja (1853) - Norfolk, ENGLAND - JUN 22, 2013
Bottle. Golden amber body. Thin white head. Nose is bread, malt, fruit, alcohol. Taste is sweet. Dry finish. Tastes kind of cheap, a little bit like Gold Label. Can imagine would taste quite good ice cold in Italy (its principal export market) however.

UPDATED: APR 13, 2014 Surprisingly tasteless ale without a profile or clarity. Works best to wash down the food.
