Hazy purplish color with a small, off white head that left no lacing. Aroma of brett, wood, wild yeast, and lots of blueberries. Taste of wood, tart blueberry skins, and a sour finish.

On tap at the oud 15 release. pour is dark reddish orange with tons of creamy tight light tan head. Nose is nice, strong Brett presence of leather and sock with a hint of citrus. Blueberries are well integrated and do not over power the flavor but add a strong element. Taste is a touch less bright on the Brett, a touch more sock and less leather towards the back. Blueberries are well balanced within and a touch sour in back. Body is well carbonated, lighter and semi dry in the finish. Solid stuff!

Pours a hazy amber/pink color with a thin fizzy white head...lively. Aroma has soft blueberry notes, slight tartness, and a hint of funk. Flavor is funky/leathery and tart with accents of blueberry cutting through...hints of wheatiness. Mouthfeel is light and slightly fizzy with a rindy/leathery dry finish.

PhillyCraft (7225) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 17, 2013
On tap at Bainbridge, pours a lightly clearish, pink color with good sporadic lacing patterns. Aromas of cheese, butter, blueberry, light bile, and yeast. Taste is pretty acidic, notes of blueberry, funky barrel, vino, grains, and tons of acidic funk. Light to medium body. Pretty puckery finish.

Aroma of bubble gum blueberry, olive brine, and slight butter. Pours red with light head. Taste is like a chalky grape smarties, yeasty backing and slight blueberry. Not too bad.

Growler. Pours a clear amber body with a bit of a reddish tint under a one finger fizzy white head that faded to a thin ring. The nose is pretty strong on the blueberries with a nice dry Saison-like quality to it. Doesn’t smell like it’s going to be all that acidic, so that’s positive. The flavor still has a good bit of blueberry flavor though it’s almost completely dry. Really nice for a pint or so, but a growler of this might be a bit of a trick to pull off. The tartness gives a nice little snap on the back end, then fades to a bit of a cereal grain like lingering finish. A bit heavy on the mouthfeel, even with it being very dry. Very well hidden alcohol for being a relatively hefty beer at 8%. Pretty nice beer, but maybe not the best pick for a growler by yourself.

On tap. Aroma: bread, blueberries, some funk, a touch of sweetness. Pours amber, off-white head with little retention, thin lacing. Flavor: tart blueberries, some biscuity malt, nice acidity, background sweetness, light funk. Heavier body than I expected, medium carbonation. Nice brew.

From Growler. Poured an amberish color with a small sized head. Blueberries, some bread, yeast, and some lighter funkiness.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2013 Enjoyed on tap at the brewpub. One of the best beers of the year for me. Dark blue with a creamy head, very lacey. Lambic yeast makes this a nice controlled tartness. Was better when a bit cold, more blueberry than beer at that point. Well malted, but it doesn’t need that. Looking forward to their future ventures into using this lambic yeast. Nice mouthfeel.

growler fill from the brewery. Pours a nice amber with a foamy head. Smells sour but not overly so. The blueberry flavor is just that a flavor not stickily sweet and over the top as many fruit beers are. Has a good yeast flavor without being overpoweringly sour. Impressive sour for a small local brewpub.
