Tap. Aroma hop-forward, grapefruit-ish. Flavor also hop-forward, semi-resinous, piney and grapefruit, with just enough malt (which felt like pale malt) to keep things from getting totally out of whack. Still, I’d like more malt. Good, but nothing more than good. LilBeerDoctor (3930) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 27, 2008
UPDATED: JUL 15, 2013 Rerate 7/15/2013: Growler from House of 1000 Beers. Pours a clear light orange, small white head. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, grassy hops, and bitter piney hops. Flavor of crackery malt, lots of piney hops, grapefruit, and bitter citrus. My old rating mostly stands, but I’ve grown into the style a bit more :-) Fresh, crisp, bitter hops. Tasty IPA.
10/27/2008. On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear light orange with a small white head. Aroma of lots of citrus (orange peel) with slight bitter piney hops. Flavor is bitter citrusy hops. A little astringent and the malt/hops is not balanced. Too bitter for me although still rather drinkable. CapnJazz (52) - Binghamton, New York, USA - OCT 7, 2008
On draft at the brewpub. Clear amber with a thin head. Hoppy, piney aroma, suggestive of a strong malt presence. Nicely balanced between the citrus hops, bright and refreshing, and a kind of sweet, bready malt. Nicely balacned, nothing really huge, good. Draft at the brewpub. Poured a copper in color with a small white head. Aroma of grapefruity hops, with a malty and bready base. Tastes of grapefruit, citrus, bread, earthy and moderately sweet with a nice dry finish. Nice. TheEpeeist (3709) - Media, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 4, 2008

Nice hoppy aroma some pine and citrus. pours amber with nice head. nicely balanced and not as dry as some, but not confused and cloyingly sweet. The maltiness in this one doesn’t deminish the hops. I still think I prefer the ultra dry and hoppy double ipa, but this was a good take on a maltly one, a more east coast styled version. medium bodied. grapefrult and pine in the flavor as well as some biscuit. nice ipa. nearbeer (5421) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 14, 2008
UPDATED: JUL 20, 2008 Cask draft at brewpub. Hazy, orange-copper with a small but lasting head. Aroma is grapefruit, resin and slight molasses. Flavor is earthy resin, some citrus and molasses. Medium body is smoothish, with just enough hop roughness and drying. Pretty nicely balanced. sleepylopes (318) - New York, USA - JUN 20, 2008
is ok not as hoppy as its discribed. as a hop head i have no problem with mild ipa, but dont pump it up as a hopp bomb and not deliver, bavarian barbarians is beeter. Rciesla (5499) - Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA - JUN 3, 2008
