This Bavarian wheat beer combines the flavors of banana, clove, bubblegum and citrus in a wonderfully refreshing summertime ale. No spices or fruits are actually used to create this beer, only barley malt, wheat malt Hallertau hops and a funky wheat beer yeast from the world's oldest brewery.

Just a regular old clean hefeweizen. Slight banana and clove finish. Should be served with a wedge of lemon.

JoeMcPhee (10137) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 22, 2010
Very bright banana/apricot aroma. A little bit of melon and a touch of light lemon as well. Creamy palate. Despite the bright aroma, the flavour seems a little bit muted. A touch of clove but this is also quite dim. Finishes quite watery. Meh.

Sampled at the brewpub. Pours a hazy, straw yellow with a thin, white head. Nose of bubblegum, coriander, Hef yeast, grass. Flavor is sweet, candy, bubblegum, spices, cotton candy, yeast. Finish is sweet and lightly chalky.

kramer (6991) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 9, 2010
On tap, at brewery. Cloudy yellow orange body with a one finger frothy white head. Big estery nose with a heavy dose of yeast and some slightly earthy wheat. The flavor is yeasty with some light clove spice and a touch of over-ripe banana. Long lingering clove note on the finish. Medium bodied with a slightly thick chewy texture. Moderate fizzy carbonation. Not bad, but not great either. If anything I think it was a bit heavy for me.

MiP (16055) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - AUG 8, 2010
Draught, 5% at the brewpub. Weak banana aroma. Cloudy orange colour. Small white head. The flavour is sweet with some clean banana. Hint of spices. OK sweetness. Good bitterness for the style.

Had on tap at the brewery A-pours a cloudy murky deep yellow liquid with a pure white head. S-the nose is very nice, some banance, lots of clove, notes of bubblegum, more spice, pepper and clove. T-sweet up front, notes of bubblegum and banana, touch of ripe lemon, lots of sweet flavor, the spice is behind, good peppery spice to it! M-thick body, full and chewy, grainy feel but soft on the tongue, strong carbonation balancing out the big body. D-huge flavors, great balance, a little dry in the back would have been nice, but a fantastic hefe,

tap @ bullfrog - Hazy yellow pour. arouma is clove and banana and candy gum. Smooth, medium thick mouthfeel. Musty flavors and subdued hops coming at the back end, supported by citrus and funk.

On tap at Bullfrog. Pours a very hazy gold with a small to medium sized white head. Banana, wheat and musk. Crisp yeast and wheat. Light esters. Crisp and light with some spicy yeast. Nice stuff.

Part of a sampler at brewpub. I found all the brews to be slightly better than average though I don’t remember specifics for most of them.

adrian910ss (2606) - Doylestown, PA, USA - JUL 30, 2009
On draft at the brewpub. Pours a hazy grayish gold with a frosty medium sized white head. Aroma of light sweetened spice, banana, bubble gum, cloves and wheat. Taste is much the same as the aroma. Another fine summer brew.

Dickinsonbeer (5073) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JUL 26, 2009
@dmacs UFC100 Gathering courtesy of Rich’s friend Ryan-growler- Thanks. Pours a dull hazy woody orange with a spritzy head that fades to almost nothing. Aroma is high phenolic yeastiness, clove spice , with vanilla, as it wamrs a bit more fruity esters come around- banana- ok thinning wheat and pale toasty malts. Flavor is light lemon zest, phenolic, ester, and a dulling limp wheat malt base, slight crackery and doughy- thins out a bit in the end.
