Neutral aroma. Enjoyed on tap at the brewery. Very brown and sweet. Brown coloured body. ekoerper (599) - Iowa, USA - NOV 11, 2012
Tap. Aroma: toasty malt, brown sugar and caramel with a touch of sweetness, no cranberry that I can pick out. Hazy brown pour, tan head with decent retention, good lacing. Caramel and toffee dominate the flavor profile, notes of dark sugar, fruity esters, maybe a hint of cranberry in the finish. Toasty malt notes, slightly sweet throughout. Medium-full body, low-medium carbonation. Overall, an interesting brew that I found enjoyable, definitely worth a shot. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 22, 2012
Growler. Pours a mostly clear mahogany brown body with a small fizzy off-white head that faded to a thin film. The nose is mostly dry toasty malt with a little nuttiness, but there is a light hint of cranberry that mixes pretty well with the nutty notes. The flavor is pretty ho-hum, on the sweeter side for a Brown Ale, presumably due to the brown sugar, but there is a pretty minimal influence from the cranberries. Maybe a little influence on the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, a touch clingy, with fizzy carbonation. Not bad, but not a favorite from these guys. Cranberry could be cool in a Brown Ale, but I think I’d leave out the brown sugar.
