750ml bottle. Pours a hazy, dark, reddish-amber color with a tall, lasting head of dense, spongy, khaki colored foam. Thick, sticky sheets of lacing coat nearly the entire glass. The aroma shows notes of spicy, peppery wildflowers, white pepper, and dried grassy hops atop a malt base of dusty, dried out caramel and bread malt. It’s solidly balanced between the malt, spice, and floral hops. Flavors include graham cracker
malts and more dry caramel, with notes of dusty white pepper, marigold, coriander, and a hint of dried orange peel. The spice profile is really quite nice, working perfectly with the low hop presence and the bready malt. Medium bodied, with a bubbly, spritzy carbonation, the palate starts out round, moving towards a dry finish. Good bière de garde. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JAN 11, 2010
750ml from Capone’s, Norristown. A very dark pour for a biere de garde, at least so it seemed (mighty gusher too). Huge chunks and tons of sediment enough for two beers. Ripe tart fruit in the nose, particularly getting hints of crabapple and so forth. Body’s a bit thin, something a bit medicinal in there too. Not bad. durhambeer (2585) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JAN 8, 2010
Bottle shared by JCB. Nose is great. Caramel apple, big time. But the apple appears to be green and tart, as even the nose reveals it’s going to be sour. This isn’t really a good thing for the beer, though. It’s weird. And cloudy as hell. I swear the masses of funk at the bottle had the slightest green/gray tint... tadpoles? Can’t get into this one at all. Nose is weird, flavor is the same. Plastic, vacuum cleaner, some fruity yeastiness. bu11zeye (13239) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - JAN 3, 2010
( 750ml bottle, courtesy of ericandersnavy ) Pours a murky amber brown body with a medium-sized fizzy quickly diminishing off-white head. Aroma of mustiness, tea leaves, apple cider, and herbs. Flavor of yeast, apple, herbs, cinnamon, and earthiness.

POurs hazy brown. Nose is caramel, apples, mild funk, some spices. Flavor is semi tart, bitter apple peel, sweet sugars, some bretty notes, toasted bread and spices. TheEpeeist (3709) - Media, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 4, 2009
25.4 oz bottle. Murky brown with a thick foamy head. Nose is apricot, strawberry, lemon and rising barnyard. Medium body with a crisp tingle. Taste is peach, citrus peel and yeast. Bitter pithy finish a touch metallic. Another curious stylistic twist from Bullfrog. redlight (2325) - Orlando, Florida, USA - DEC 3, 2009
i think Beerlando shared this one, can’t remember sorry! Sour funky aroma, very Fantome-like! Pour amber with a white head. Spicy caramel malts with funky flavors, barnyard flavors, a lot of brett character. Very interesting beer! SoLan (1550) - Florida, USA - DEC 3, 2009
Courtesy Beerlando. Amber, off white carbonation. Very nice graham cracker-cookie-toffee malt with plenty of spicy, aromatic, fruity, funky yeast. Mild earthy bitterness. Medium body, well carbonated, very dry, yeasty finish. Very nice American brewed bdg. jcwattsrugger (12559) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - NOV 28, 2009
