On draft at the brewpub. Pours a dark honey colour with white head. Aroma of spices, yeast, zesty lemon/lime, funk and other interesting smells. Can’t quite pin down the aroma. Flavour is better than the aroma. j12601 (13033) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - OCT 31, 2009
Bottle at Paul’s place for Kan’s visit. Pours a murky light brown with a medium sized white head. Light sweet caramel, grain, slight musk, and a bit of old apples. Medium bodied, light acid note. Finishes with a touch of a slow bitterness. durhambeer (2500) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JAN 8, 2010
Bottle shared by JCB. Nose is great. Caramel apple, big time. But the apple appears to be green and tart, as even the nose reveals it’s going to be sour. This isn’t really a good thing for the beer, though. It’s weird. And cloudy as hell. I swear the masses of funk at the bottle had the slightest green/gray tint... tadpoles? 750ml bottle. Pours a hazy, dark, reddish-amber color with a tall, lasting head of dense, spongy, khaki colored foam. Thick, sticky sheets of lacing coat nearly the entire glass. The aroma shows notes of spicy, peppery wildflowers, white pepper, and dried grassy hops atop a malt base of dusty, dried out caramel and bread malt. It’s solidly balanced between the malt, spice, and floral hops. Flavors include graham cracker
malts and more dry caramel, with notes of dusty white pepper, marigold, coriander, and a hint of dried orange peel. The spice profile is really quite nice, working perfectly with the low hop presence and the bready malt. Medium bodied, with a bubbly, spritzy carbonation, the palate starts out round, moving towards a dry finish. Good bière de garde. goldtwins (4320) - Nesconset, New York, USA - FEB 22, 2010
Poured a hazy brown color with an off-white head. Mildly sweet aroma with spicy phenols hitting the nose. The flavor was sweet and malty with notes of yeast and phenolic pepper. Light to medium bodied.

Cloudy brown pour with tan head and lace. Light brown sugar aroma. Brown sugar and a light sour. Light/medium bodied with no carbonation. Very drinkable. BMan1113VR (7930) - Los Angeles, California, USA - OCT 2, 2009
Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Pours with a large bone colored head over a muddy amber body. Aroma is butter, cinnamon, pastries, alcohol and apple pie. Really nice. Taste is a bit sour with some green apple, and caramel. Doesn’t live up to the aroma. Fizzy. jcwattsrugger (12517) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - NOV 28, 2009
