Draft at Bru Craft. Opaque dark ruby/black pour with some beige foam. Rich burnt caramel with tart dark fruit. Quite pungent! Cocoa nibs. Black cherry. Balsamic vinegar. Charcoal briquettes. Blackberries. Baker’s chocolate. Shoe polish. Currants. Feels huge but refined. Won me over! beern (238) - Alabama, USA - JAN 26, 2017
Pours deep brown with an aroma of cherries. Tastes of mild oak and tart cherries with a hint of cocoa to balance the finish. DiarmaidBHK (6151) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 22, 2017
Draft at brewpub. Pours ruby red with a thin khaki head. Lots of tart cherry on the nose and tongue. Definitely Getting the cocoa nibs on the tongue and bigger on the finish. Good beer. kramer (6991) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 3, 2017
Tap. Pours a ear dark brown body with a small tight bubbled beige head. The nose is super cocoa-heavy, with some cherry and dark fruitiness under, it smells excellent. The flavor is like dark chocolate covered sour cherries. Just a little oak and sourness make it past the cocoa and cherry intensity. The finish is all cocoa powder, and it lingers for ever. A great balance between a sour beer, and a holiday special. Medium bodied and a little clingy with soft fizzy carbonation. Great stuff. can8ianben (1603) - State College, Pennsylvania, USA - SEP 2, 2015
Hmm... sour but with a chocolate undertone? It just didn’t click for me. I wanted the chocolate notes to come together with sweetness, and the sour/funk notes to stay away from the chocolate.
Having said all that, it was unlike anything I’ve had before, so I guess I have to give it points for style!

hazy chestnut, thin fizzy white ring. Heavy cocoa, reminiscent of the powdered Hershey shit, lightly acetic, the marriage sudden and without harmony. Conflicted palate, sourness thins the experience and acid reduces chocolate to basic bitch status. Finish is playdoh and flaked wheat, the elements washing each other out in soft, thin finish. Better with warmth, more acid.
Draft. Pours dark red white head. Nose/taste of cocoa nib, tart cherry and sour caramel - soured cherry cordial - medium body. jackl (8557) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 8, 2015
Keg @ Bullfrog. Hazy brown with a modest head. Cherry mocha latte nose. Strange but pretty distinct. Biscotti and cherry lique. Mellow sour chocolate cherry flavor. Pretty cool. Chocolate chip cookies. Sounds weird, but it works. Medium body, active carbonation. Surprisingly drinkable. Wonkaesque Travlr (26431) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - MAY 8, 2015
Draft at the source. Clear deep maroon brown color, almost flat. Aroma of chocolate covered cherry. Taste is softly sour rich cherry and vanilla dipped in milk chocolate. Delicious. GenDV138 (7900) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - MAY 8, 2015
