Bottle at Fantasy Tasting. Cloudy yellow orange with ring. Barn hay tart wax aroma. Funky horse barn peach with dry finish. Flavors seem to have separated. Slightly watery. Ok. GAManiac (1944) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - MAY 7, 2010
Thanks to Joshua for another Bullfrog bottle, shared with the usual suspects.
Pours a bright, slightly hazy golden amber with a very short-lived bubbly white head that recedes quickly leaving very little behind.
The nose is very bright, sweet and tart. Lots of tart lemons with vinegar and faint lactic notes. But it’s not all sour as there is some sweet fruits, apricots maybe, and then the oak presence. Nice, complex nose.
The taste is more of the same with tart green apples and some light lactic sourness in addition to the bright lemon zest tartness. The finish is very dry with the oak really showing out.
The mouthfeel is exceptionally refreshing - light-bodied and effervescent with lots of carbonation. So active on the palate.
This one really surprised me and is one of the better American wilds I’ve had recently. It’s extremely drinkable with the wood bringing an extra complexity to things. Excellent. tgncc (3132) - Bellmore, New York, USA - MAY 3, 2010
The aroma is sour lemon, tart, vinegar. The appearance is hazy yellow, thin white head. The flavor is lemon, other light fruit, sour, pungent, vinegar. The finish is like a tart lemon flavor. Ecellent sour. Very enjoyable. TheEpeeist (3709) - Media, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 5, 2010
25.4 oz bottle. Foggy pale orange with some white froth. Nose is funky lemon peel, orange oil, pear, sweat and bubblegum. Medium light with soft carb. Taste is tart but not overly sour. Like the nose, lemon and pear with some nectarine. Good stuff. MrChopin (4304) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - APR 2, 2010
Pours opaque off-gold with a thin white head. I definitely nose egg yellows (see Mike James’ review), some strong fruit in mango and lemon, and light wheat bitterness the gives the aroma a bit more. Rather muted and muddled flavor of leather and lemon, incredibly dry, and with a somewhat watery finish. I’m glad those with whom I drank this really enjoyed it, but for some reason, it didn’t work for me.

Poured a hazy gold color with an almost white head. The aroma was light on the malt sweetness and dominated by tart lemon. With just a hint of wood. The flavor was tart and lemony. The finish dried out nicely leaving some leather funk. Light to medium bodied. scrizzz (2223) - Bothell, Washington, USA - FEB 25, 2010
Thanks ben! tart poopy peach aroma, some rose petal. light salmon, little haze. light raspberry, some lemon in the finish. juicy body that started intensely tart and finished gentle. riversideAK (6261) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - FEB 25, 2010
Acidic lemony notes on the nose dust is there as well. Hazy golden orange ring of foam around the edge. Tart, lemony acidic, some oak/woody notes. Nice acidic notes linger. Airy carbonation, lingering woody tartness. A little dry and with light funk. Well done. bvc (1242) - Washington, USA - FEB 25, 2010
750ml corked and caged from suzygreenberg. Hazy rich orange golden with little white halo head. Tart, fruity, light wood. Light acedic tropical fruit mostly dominated by lemon, bits of poopie funk, light wet wine wood. Lively carb with chewy feel yet pretty light in feel, not much deffinition on the fruit in flavor but enjoyable and pretty woody white wine notes. Good stuff. after4ever (8025) - Mukilteo, Washington, USA - FEB 25, 2010
