Pours pitch black with a good tanned head leaving lacing. Aroma is heavily roasted sweet coconut vanilla chocolate. Flavor is as aroma, medium bitterness, good drinkability and nice malty body. ljay6880 (475) - , Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 14, 2011
5oz sample from a flight. Pour is deep mahogany with an inch of beige head on top. Nose is roasted malt, a mixture of chocolate/dark chocolate, plums, a bit of wood, and just a touch of astringent booze. Taste is very flat, but it works great with this brew; I also pick up a roasted malt & chocolate mixture that fades slightly and is met by a bready booze combination to comprise the finish. This is a very nice imperial stout, one I could drink often enough, but that isn’t in the cards due to availability. dfox670 (75) - Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 14, 2011
5oz glass at the brewery pours a viscous black with one finger of tan head. Nose was chocolate, coffee and malts. Taste was bourbon, oak, chocolate coffee and booze full in body and a good brew at that.
