tap at Bullfrog - Minty rye bread and sweet. Plenty of pine and a touch of nuts. Some toasted nuts. Finish is nice, dry and piney and bitter. Ernesto987 (6050) - Arizona, USA - AUG 25, 2011
Good rye, has the heavy chewy gummy syrupy flavors that are commo with rye beers that are counter balanced with dry hopping. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 14, 2011
Tap. Pours a clear reddish amber body with a small fleeting off-white head that left some sparse lacing. The nose is very rye centered, but there’s a good bit of piney dry hopping going on as well. Some dry toasted and lightly caramel maltiness below. The flavor is a lite more subtle on the rye than the nose, but it’s a really nice tweak to balance out the malt sweetness and the bright hops. Light to medium bodied with fizzy soft carbonation. Not a stunner, but a really solid beer. Very much reminds me of Founders Red’s Rye, but with better and fresher hopping than I’m used to with that one.
