Bottle:   Cola infused straw in color, large rocky sand colored head, lively carbonation, a few clumps of
lacing.   Sweet and malty barnish nose, faint anise and black patent like malts.   Bright straw/grass on the
tongue, very musty, barnish, with a Belgianesque sort of Tripel quality.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to
full.   Feels somewhat hefty for a Saison.   A bit more meatly/malty than I would have expected.   Good
balance between teh sweetness and the dryness.   Lingering straw, musty hay, damp horseblanket.   I enjoyed
this one more than I thought I would.   Had the effervesence of a Saison, but somewhat of a body of a Tripel.
Thanks for this one Jason! GT (10017) - San Diego, California, USA - NOV 14, 2011
750mL thanks to drowland. The pour is a muddy mahogany with a decent tan head. Delicate lace. Nose is vinous, musky, cherry pie crust, sour cherry juice. Big musty yeast but nothing I would say as "Brett!" Taste is oatmeally, malty, loaded with minerals. Light tartness. Comes across really as 100% Biere de Garde. Super malt forward, oatmeally, bready, soft minerals. Very good for Biere de Garde. If you are expecting funky saison, prepare for disappointment. drowland (9057) - Georgia, USA - NOV 11, 2011
11/11/11. 750mL bottle courtesy ericandersnavy! Hazy brown pour with a frothy khaki head that fades but laces plenty. Huge yeast aroma with dark fruits, toast, caramel, and definite brett. Very slightly tart flavor with brett, a touch of roast, dark fruits, and lingering maltiness. Nice! brokensail (16645) - Dublin, California, USA - APR 4, 2011
A: The pour is a dark amber color with a creamy off-white, maybe khaki, colored head.
S: Touch of chocolate malt and sweetness. Definitely fruity with a mild to moderate roast and hints of oak. Fairly yeast with some peppery notes, chalk, and earthiness.
T: Quite a bit more dry than I was expecting. Chocolate malts, earthy funk, wet oak, mild roast, and a definite chalkiness. A mild fruitiness (specifically raisins). Just a little bit bready.
M: Medium in body with carbonation on the high end of medium.
O: Really interesting and complex. The chocolatey notes were a little unexpected, but they worked out. faroeviking (11215) - Chupando chellas es como ellas, FAROE ISLANDS - APR 3, 2011
