Poured from 750ml, thanks to Captain Cougar. Nice lacy tan head over golden brown. Subtle aroma with hints of fruit. nuplastikk (6216) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 5, 2009
CaptainCougar supplied 750ml bottle, thanks! Thick brown-orange color. Lacy head. Thick yeasty flavor. Quite a nice beer with lots of subtle Belgian-style nuances. Sweet but balanced by the Brett, which works itself into the equation superbly, not standing out and dominating like it can. Not unlike a hoppy Belgian Christmas Ale. Great beer. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - MAR 5, 2009
(750ml bottle, thanks CaptainCougar) Small beige head atop cloudy dark amber body. Aroma is medium sweet, some sourness/funk, fairly mild. Taste is medium sweet, sour, chocolate, caramel. Medium body, some effervescence, acidity. SamGamgee (2452) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - MAR 3, 2009
UPDATED: NOV 22, 2009 75cl bottle courtesy of CaptainCougar. Hazy brown with a creamy beige head. The aroma is yeasty, doughy, dusty, and lightly acidic in a fruity way. Toasted malt and caramel flavors along with yeasty character and light acidity. Medium bodied with medium-hight carbonation. Really nice stuff with great yeast character and malt balance. Rerate: 75cl bottle thanks to illidurit. I was hoping for more brett as this has some age on it, but was almost unable to detect any, and the flavor was overall to sweet for a saison. Still decent, but that’s about it.
Bottle from bullfrog. Dark amber body with a vicious 4 finger head. Copper with more metallic iron. Some floral notes, spices, caramel malt, and burnt sugar. This beer was screaming infection with all the metallic flavors.
