Tap at brewpub. I kinda liked this one quite a bit- Pours a nice slightly hazy woody amber with a fluffy white head. Aroma is nicely smokey- toasted malts, light woody campfire smoke with a phenolic kick- lots of clean Munich malt toast and sweetness with an earthy spicy finish. On tap, at brewery. Pours a nice dark ruby amber with a one finger creamy beige head. Light toffee and cereal grains with a very light undertone of smoked malt. The smoke is more pronounced on the flavor, nice campfire quality to it, a good bit of slightly sweet toasty malt, very smooth and drinkable. Light lingering hoppiness. Mouthfeel is just perfect, smooth and soft with great minimal carbonation. On the sweeter side, but not cloying or sticky at all. On tap at the brewpub. Pours an opaque-ish dark amber with a small white head. Aroma of smoked firewood (faint) and sweet amber malt. Flavor of charred smoked meats. Not too smoked, just right, and not too oppressive either. Light-bodied.

Poured a dark amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of smoked meat, nuts, caramel malts, and wood. Taste of sweeter caramel malts, nuts, charred wood, and nuts... quite meaty though overall. hopdog (12382) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 1, 2004
On tap. I usually stay away from smoked beers but this one was good. Poured a medium to dark reddish brown with a small off white head. Tasted like a nice amber ale then the subtle smokey smell and taste (not over powering) came through.
