Murky brown, thin head. Nose is belgian yeast, roast, rich malt, coffee, dark honey, overripe fruit. Flavor is coffee up front giving way to a rich malty saison, notes of bock, alcohol. 2012-08-17. Murky dark brown body with a small beige head. 3 A whole lot of coffee and coffee grounds in the flavour, very muted malt base if you look hard past the coffee. Similar aroma is dominated by coffee and coffee grounds. Average plus bodied palate is lightly carbonated. One dimensional, I expected to find coffee grounds in the bottom of the glass after. Draft. Brown pour with tan head. Roasted coffee dominated aromas with some lighter vanilla and yeast like tones. Flavor also is roasted malt, coffee forward, hints of sweet malt, vanilla, and yeasts. Saison? justinjetton (1) - - JUL 21, 2012 does not count
Love the coffee overtones. Not too overbearing. Has a nice sweetness that nicely accents the coffee tastes.

On tap at Bullfrog last weekend. Reviewed from notes.
Pours a fairly-dark brown color with a thin light tan head and not much in the way of retention or lacing. The nose brings forward quite a bit of coffee plus some odd Belgian yeast character. It sounded like it could be an interesting combination, but the coffee overpowers the saison yeast rather than complement it, so the finished product ends up being more like a coffee beer that has some strange Belgian character to it. Flavor is a bit more odd. Body is medium with decent carbonation. A bit strange in the finish as well. Overall, I just wasn’t a big fan of this one.

growler fill from bullfrog - Burnt copper colored pour, aroma is coffee roast, with light barnyard notes and cheese. Yeasty notes with chocolate and coffee. Dark toasty malts.
