On tap at the brewery. Honey and sugar, caramel and biscuit, light oak with a little bit of hops. Dark amber clear with no head. Medium watery body with light carbonation (on cask). Sweet and malty with tons of honey and biscuit. Neutral fruits. Hardly any bitter character at all and very easy drinking. nearbeer (5563) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 14, 2008
UPDATED: JUL 15, 2008 Cask draft at the brewpub. Darkish copper with a small but lasting head. Aroma is slight caramel. Flavor is caramel and toasted nut. Some peat seems to show up a bit later but is really pretty subtle for the style. Light-medium body is watery and maybe a bit rough-dry. TomDecapolis (4618) - Milton, Delaware, USA - JUL 7, 2008
Cask at the brewery. Pours a mostly translucent copper with a small bubbly white head. Aroma of lightly toasted grains, light smoke, nuts and malt. Flavor of nuts, toffee, light smoke and toasted malt. sleepylopes (318) - New York, USA - JUN 20, 2008
on cask, now i have come to love cask beers in all their celler temp flat glory, but this one was as hot as the chowder. hard to drink but it did have an almost enjoyable soapy way about it even though it was thin. sweet and simple. kmweaver (3207) - Petaluma, California, USA - JUN 16, 2008
Cask @ Bullfrog. Pours a clear, honey-orange color; off-white head with medium-bubbled lacing. Light aroma: toasty malts and some light caramel / sugar; not a lot here. Medium mouthfeel: candy sugar, caramel, and some wheatiness (though edgeless); soft and lightly carbonated; again, quite resigned and a touch watery on the edges. Rather bland and lifeless. Medium finish: breadiness and toasty malts.
