Draft at Bullfrog. Unfiltered golden yellow colored body with a small white head. Sweet and wet grains in the nose and as the dominant flavor as well, with some gritty wheat and creamy yeast notes throughout. Smooth and pasty, medium to full body for the style, with excessive yeast held in suspension... so it has that sort of smooth but gritty wheat character you find in a lot of hefeweizen. Some honey notes show up at warmer temperatures, and it turns slightly sticky, sweet and nearly cloying, but overall it’s a nice beer that comes across as a blonde ale/wheat hybrid. kmweaver (3207) - Petaluma, California, USA - JUL 27, 2008
Draft @ Bullfrog. Pours a hazy, golden-amber color; off-white head with fine-bubbled lacing. Light, crisp citrus and basic sugars in the aroma; some floral notes; very nicely dry. Medium mouthfeel: crisp, effervescent; toasty malts, cereal, and citrus; crisp, toasty, and immensely drinkable stuff. Medium finish: crisp cereal, toasty malts, and zesty citrus; very tasty. On tap at the brewery. Light wheat honey aroma, bit of floral hops in there, too. Cloudy amber gold with thin off-white head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts fairly sweet with some pilsner malt and light honey. Good bittering throughout with some carbonic acidity. Medium bitter finish with honey and grain after, light chalky coat on the tongue.
