Kind of caramel, sweet and toasty on the nose. The bitterness is there, too, with some stone fruit flavors like apricot. Also, citrus and a relatively clean palate. Draft. FROTHINGSLOSH (8449) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 19, 2017
Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a caramel-tan color with a medium sized foamy orange-white head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was malty with a bit of bread crust and a hint of caramel. The flavor was toasty , woody and malty with a bit of caramel and faint fruity hops. Medium length finish. Medium body. Tap at Bullfrog. Clear dark copper. No nose, light toasted flavor, mildly sweet and of candy. Medium body with some fresh character but really doing its own thing, unique but a little weird. [2016.07.22: 3.0] LinusStick (3544) - Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 26, 2016
On tap at Patrick’s Pub Moon Township. Not very good. Aroma was pretty weak. Mud and roasted malt, but very thin. Pour was aa hazy dirty looking medium brown with an off white film for a head. Taste was pretty weak and watery. Slightly metallic, with sweet artificial tasting malt/sugar water in the front with a dirty dishwater finish. I will rerate if I try this again because I can’t imagine this beer is supposed to taste like this. Mild to no carbonation. tia (2228) - Sandston, Virginia, USA - AUG 27, 2015
Tap from source. Caramel color with dissipating head. Smells wheaty and citric and a tad metallic. Very mild non flavor... With a tiny hint of hop character at the end.

Overheard: "What is brains of paradise?" "No, grains of paradise." "Oh... That’d be a good name for a beer though."

2014-08-15. Hazy dark amber body with a small beige head. Aroma is fruity and lightly yeasty. Flavour is on the dry side, dryish malt and moderate hops. Lightly fruity. Bitterness grows as too go. Average bodied palate, good carbonation. Quaffable, simple. On tap at Bullfrog, Williamsport kramer (6989) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 5, 2014
Tap. Clear amber red body with a tight bubbled off white head. The nose is toasty and husky malt with a bit of caramel sweetness, minimal hops. The flavor is pretty solid, albeit on the ’normal’ side for Bullfrog. Toasty and caramel malts with a light bitterness on the finish that mixes with a little huskiness. Light bodied with hard fizzy carbonation and a lingering toasty finish. Better than average for the style.
