Pours a mostly clear pale yellow with a medium white head...heavy lacing. Aroma is tangy fruity with light banana. Flavor is very yeasty/fruity with only subtle banana...some light spice. Mouthfeel is medium/full and the finish is tangy/fruity and slightly dry. kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 1, 2013
Growler. Pours a cloudy yellow body with a one finger frothy white head that slowly faded to a thin ring. The nose is pretty sweet smelling at first, with a bit of banana, but then a slight bit if Brett funk emerges along with a fairly heavy yeastiness. The flavor is well balanced between the fruit and the Saison-ish qualities showing a bit of Brett funk, all dulled a bit by the heavy yeastiness and a little lingering sweetness on the finish. Quite an odd duck, really a mix if styles, but more Saison like than anything. Medium bodied with fizzy prickly carbonation. A bit heavier on the tongue than I’d prefer, but still pretty enjoyable. Probably the best banana beer I’ve had, but there isn’t all that much competition. DiarmaidBHK (5432) - Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 22, 2013
Draft at brewpub. Pours golden with a thin white head. Leaves a bit of lacing in the glass. I get a trace of banana on the nose. Lots of banana on the tongue as well as a bit of farmhouse funk. I get the soreness from the Brett on the finish which keeps things nice and tidy. It’s like they’ve taken elements from Saisons, hefe, and sour ale for this one and it works very well. I could drink this all day.
