Sampled at the DC Ratebeer Gathering. 750ml bottle pours a hazy, burnt yellow with one ring of white head. Nose is sweet, boozy, tropical fruit. Flavors of tropical fruit cocktail, strong pineapple, boozy, schnapps, candy sugar, light spice, guava. Very heavy pineapple flavor. Full bodied, sweet finish. craftycarl21 (2338) - Seattle, Washington, USA - OCT 17, 2011
Sampled at GT’s birthday tasting, thanks to MrChopin. Hazy amber pour. Dry bread, rye, candied sugars. Reminds me of a sweet saison, but in a much better way than I would usual consider such a hybrid. Citrusy fruit comes through as well. Really good. Bottle shared by MrChopin. Pours a hazy orange color with a thin creamy offwhite head. Decent head retention. Aroma of bread, spice, citrus, stone fruits, toasted malts and an earthy finish. The taste is plum, tart berry notes, citrus, bread, spice and earthy notes. Medium-full bodied. Nice beer. MrChopin (4304) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - OCT 9, 2011
translucent amber, moderate white ring, muddled bubbles. Sweet caramel nose, light heat, lots of apple, faintly reminiscent of de dolle. Flavor is very fruity, apple, caramel, pineapple, hints of sugar. Moderate body, bit too much sugar but very Belgian and very fruity, crisp, the highlights of a tripel, golden and with low esters. oteyj (2139) - New Hampshire, USA - OCT 9, 2011
Thanks MrChopin! Murky orange brown pour with a very small head. Nectar and doughy fruits with huge pineapple in the back. Medium to full palate with medium carbonation and an angel food cake dough finish. Weird and interesting.

Shiiiiiiiiittttttt, smells like an old mad bitch! Tons of fresh cider and must cellar notes. Taste is very juicy, lots of apple and pear, some light pepper, starts sweet with some cotton candy, dries out in the finish. Excellent. GT (10000) - San Diego, California, USA - OCT 8, 2011
750mL c&c thanks to MrChopin. The pour is a hazy orange gold with a weak off-white head. Specks of lace. Nose is sweeter, white wine, mild vinegar, bitter orange peel, baked apples, mulled cider. Really nice nose. Buttery and rich. Nice. Taste is tart, honey, sweeter, yellow apples, nice fruitiness, very fruit with massive Belgian yeast presence. Fresh, citrusy. Good stuff. Crisp and fresh apples. Really good. BeerandBlues2 (13307) - Escondido, California, USA - OCT 8, 2011
Bottle shared by MrChopin. Pours lightly hazy amber with a small, white head, medium retention with light lacing. Aroma is fruity esters, light hops, sugary, hay and straw notes, faint chardonnay notes. Flavor is lightly vinous, chardonnay, fruity esters, light malt, light sugar and a dry finish. Medium body, warmth, and carbonation. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 20, 2010
750 mL bottle. Poured hazy medium orange with a short-moderate cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up a huge dose of tart lighter fruit skins, floral notes, and peppery alcohol over semi-sweet honey.. the blend of components was enjoyable, but it was a touch heavy-handed. The flavor found honey and sliced lighter fruits at the core (think green apple, pear, and some honeydew).. black pepper, tart fruit skins (and maybe a little oak), and a pinch of cinnamon around.. alcohol amplified everything.. spicy, tart finish.. again a bit assertive. Heavier-bodied with thick carbonation on the palate.. OK feel overall, but hot at times. Solid brew. CaptainCougar (7133) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - DEC 12, 2009
Bottle shared by kmweaver on 8/7/08: Hazy cloudy golden pour has a clingy-lacing white head. Aroma of lightly sweet biscuity malts with a touch of fruity tartness. Body starts fairly full with good crystal malty sweetness and tart complex balance with a touch of warmth in the finish. Very true to style and enjoyable.
