Tap. Pours a clear dark amber body with a small covering of beige head that faded to a thin film. The nose is quite sweet and has some nice notes of vanilla and bourbon without going overboard. Some light woody notes. The flavor is a really nice balance between the barrel influence and the bad beer. It’s sweet but not cloying, not overly boozy, not too heavy with the wood. This seems to have spent the right amount of time in the barrel. Mouthfeel is thick and chewy with light carbonation. Some noticeable alcohol warmth on the finish. Pretty nice effort. The more I had the more the sweetness got to me though. Best enjoyed in a 4-6 ounce portion.
