3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from the brewery. Golden body with very light haze and small white head. Aroma of citrus (orange, grapefruit) and pineapple that is a bit more subdued than many of the previous Burdock IPAs, but is still fresh and inviting. Flavour is similarly reined in, with nice orange-pineapple cocktail character, and a touch of grapefruit peel bitterness. Given how harsh I’ve found some other beers made with hop hash, I prefer this more mellow example.
Tap at the brewpub. Hazy yellow pour, with a medium white head. Aroma is very citrusy, big grapefruit, and strong orange character. Mouth feel is full for an ipa, carb was soft. Finish is soft also, light bitterness tropical fruit, and lots of sticky green hop cones. Incredibly hoppy,,but also soft at the same time. It doesnt smash you over the head, surprising by the amount of hops in here. Sammy (13121) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 25, 2017
