Pours translucent topaz with a thick and persistent eggshell head. Aroma features tart apple and pear and fresh malt. Flavor delivers all this plus a bit of berry - could that be the chokeberry? (Shoulda named this beer for the Falcons - sorry, had to be snarky.) A snip of hops comes through as well. Mouthfeel offers decent body and subtle but lasting fizz. Rebel!

From tap. Pours hazy straw with a thin white head. Fruity nose, spice and yeast notes. Sour, funky flavors, more spices. Medium length, drying finish.

Draft tasting glass @ Beerlovers Bar. Dark orange, soapy white head. Nose is weird plastic sour fruit, milky, milky gooseberry, almost something that Hof ten Dormaal would do, sour plastic fruit. Taste is weird soap, plastic, soap, overly yoghurt, plastic yoghurt fruit, berry,... Yoghurt, milky berry body,... Not a bit success but partially okay. The acclaim that I have seen this brewery get for its saison’s is lost on me here with this one & the other one that I tried.

Tap at beerlovers tap takeover. Pours medium clear, peachy and light. Small white head. Smell is wet, mineral, earthy, almost like tunips. Taste is bit sour, yet not sharp at all. Really rounded by the fruits. Soft carbo. Easy drinkable. Very kild dryness at the end.

3.6
Bulk_Carrier (6065) - Vermont, USA - MAY 31, 2017
Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a dark golden/bronzed color with a fingers worth of off white foamy head that felt off at a decent pace. Not much lace.
The aroma had some sour qualities up front playing with some sweet and tart fruit. Light funk, some breadiness, light basement/earthiness.
The flavor was a blend of sour to sweet to the fruit, breadiness and earthiness spreading into the funky portion. Aftertaste was funky. Finish was earthy and funky, somewhat sour.
The palate was between light and medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt fine.
Overall, pretty good saison I could come back to if I could get it again. But I think I missed the chokeberries in this.

Pours a dark wooden/gold with a finger and a half of bubbly white head. Strong sour character to the aroma, with dry yeast hiding underneath. Hints of fruit. On the taste, it’s dry and bluntly sour, with a nice funkiness. Not really getting a whole lot of chokeberries, but I’ve never had a chokeberry, and therefore am not really sure what they taste like. It’s a nice dry sour that’s refreshing for this time of year, that’s for sure.

Apricot and some citrus. Light bretta. Easy drinking but watery like the pregnant break. Tangy finish. Tap at Churchkey.

radagast83 (8507) - Arlington, Virginia, USA - APR 12, 2017
Draft pour at ANXO Cidery & Pinxtos Bar during CBC. Poured a pale, slightly hazy yellow color with a small white head. Aroma was light straw, some grassy notes. Light tart notes. Flavor was similar, light tartness. Very mild vinegar sour.

3.8
drpimento (3790) - La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA - MAR 31, 2017
Its good but not great. I was expecting more character from the chokecherry. Aroma’s funky, fruity, yeasty, tart, slightly putrid. Flavor’s mainly a moderate tart and some fruit. Good body and finish.

3.5
slowrunner77 (12988) - Reno, Nevada, USA - APR 6, 2016
This clear red tinged saison drinks cleaner than expected. The fruit comes across but is not too aggressive. The beer is slightly sweet and yeasty, and moderately tart throughout.
