Poured a clear mid-amber with a 5mm beige foamy head that diminished quickly to a collar and laced OK. Carbonation low, average and with medium sized bubbles. Aroma moderately strong of grapefruit, tropical fruits (passionfruit), sweet citrus, and hints of pine. Taste of citrus/grapefruit with hints of tropical fruits, sweet citrus and pine; moderate bitterness. Light body. Crisp, refreshing, smooth and slightly dry with a slightly fizzy mouthfeel and a short nicely bitter finish. jonas (7573) - Garching b. München, GERMANY - MAR 7, 2017

Mild hop aroma, fruity. Very smooth mix of malt and hops, some sips taste slightly more malty and others more hop driven. Biscuity and some pine. danjs5 (241) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 28, 2016
UPDATED: NOV 26, 2016 A nice American style pale ale with mild malty citris, light pine flavour combination. Subtle mix. Toffee and chaff aroma. Earthy tones. Sometimes a thin soapy texture, however still very pleasant. A well balanced beer. Didn’t buy the nostalgic 70s surf marketing thing though. Would happily drink again. Update: new label. Same great beer. Upgraded score. beer-yum (1710) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 8, 2016
Restrained citrus pine aroma in an amber pour. Hop malt balance is pretty much textbook - as is the sustained mild bitter finish.

On tap at Burleigh Brewing, pours a clear copper golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out gentle piney hops and biscuity malt. Flavour is balanced, with biscuity malt and light piney hops. Dry and fairly restrained. It’s alright. Sevenlee (1846) - Central Coast, NSW, AUSTRALIA - JAN 27, 2016

Good local brew. Golden colour, white foam. Quite a strong fruity flavour. Excellent Aussie version of an American pale ale. DylansDad (642) - North Shore, Auckland, NEW ZEALAND - JUL 15, 2015
I was 5 years old in the summer of 1974. The Commonwealth games were playing on the black and white TV inside and I was outside in the tyre swing hanging from a plum tree. The late afternoon sun in the hot, dry summer of the northern Wairarapa was a beautiful gold and I was thinking about how cool it would be to do a pole vault. When I went inside my dad was cleaning his gun and watching the track events and Mum was putting some meat through the mincer. Mum gave me a bone to gnaw the left-over gristle off and Dad gave me a few fingers of beer in a glass to wash it down with. I swear it was THIS beer. It smelled of a clean simple biscuity malt, slightly dusty in the heat, noble-ish hops and the faintest tinge of green apples at the back. The afternoon became even more golden.
