2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Australian take on a German hefe, blending the flavors of a Belgian wit with a kristallweizen. The first thing you notice when pouring is the lower carbonation, the aroma is half kristallweizen, half wit, with lots of orange peel and doughy white bread. Taste again is orange peel, bready malt, lacking the spice and hefe yeast notes that should be present in this style. Lightly creamy texture with a watery body. Easy to drink but too bland for my tastes.

(Bottle) Pours a cloudy, slightly muddy, amber with no head. Pleasant subtle aroma of bananas with hints of bread. Medium body with very low carbonation. Fruity start with some distinct ester notes, develops into banana and citrus and finishes with some bitterness, and bananas. A bit odd, but drinkable. [backlog] 05-05-15 // bottle in Sydney. Cloudy orange, solid white head. Quite a light hefeweizen, yeasty with light banana. mcberko (17830) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 12, 2016
On tap at Burleigh Brewing, pours a cloudy orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of banana and clove. Flavour is big on the banana and fruity esters. Almost too banana-y. It’s alright. KeefOz (1838) - Tarragindi, AUSTRALIA - MAR 5, 2016
BB 26.06.2016. Poured a clouded golden colour with a one-finger off-white foamy head that diminished slowly but produced virtually no lacing. Carbonation moderate and fine. Aroma dominantly of sweet bananas with a hint of citrus and a hint of yeast. Taste strongly of bananas with hints of yeast and clove and having a slight bitterness. Light to medium body. Smooth with cloves and a slight bitterness on the finish. A reasonable one to try to give y good introduction to wheat beers (before moving on to the more typical German styles). Pours a yellow colour, no real head and what did form faded quickly to a very thin layer of fine bubbles. Strong banana aroma, for me it is a bit too much. Banana comes through a lot in the taste too. Medium body and carbonation doesn’t seem that high. A good beer, but not up to the same standard as good German examples.

Pours a hazy yellow with a thin head. Fresh, clean, crisp with a nice banana ester and light grassy and clove flavour. DavidAust (275) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - OCT 20, 2015
bottle 330ml. Poured into a craft glass. Strong banana aroma, more than other Hefeweizens I’ve tried. Might have to do with the less pillowy head. Appearance is OK, but the head is not as full as expected, fades away to a super low foam and lacing is almost non existent. Enjoy the taste with a large banana taste. I hear what other reviewers say about the vegetable taste, and I get a hint of it but for me it is a sweeter than veggies and I like it when the beer is cold - unless you allow the beer to warm, then it isn’t nice at all. Probably good that it comes in 330ml and not 500+. Palate is medium but intense for that period. Carbonation is fairly low and very low for Hefeweizen but still seems to have a decent mouthfeel.
A good beer, just not as good as the top European beers as they are in a class of their own.

330ml bottle into glass. Acidic wheat nose. Hazy golden beer with solid white head. Creamy texture but aftertaste is too vegetal. Very slight late bitterness. The wheat is there, but hard to find. Disappointing. Ngejo (979) - Jakarta, INDONESIA - OCT 11, 2014
Tap. Golden, hazy, frothy, white foam, medium sweetness, lightly bitter, light body, thin feel, average carbonation, & astringent finish. didierlewallon (288) - ponferrada, SPAIN - AUG 15, 2014
La Hef Burleigh Hefeweizen es una cerveza con un carácter de fruta deliciosa, cuenta con un buen equilibro de plátano y aroma de clavo.
Sabores ricos, la cabeza brillante y una textura suave y cremosa.
