This workers strength Saison, is our seasonal beer. The base recipe will remain the same and will uses the same strains of yeast as our ‘Provision’ Saison but changes to reflect the seasons in the inspirational countryside that surrounds Burning Sky Brewery. The Autumn hedgerows have been laden with rosehips this year & we have blended a large portion in to give a subtle perfume & enticing colour to the beer.

08.03.2017,tap @ Apollon:
Nice slightly fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head, hazy. Aroma is slightly dry floral, wet hay, weeds, flowers, yeast, minerals, bark, paper, sap, heather, old leafs, hints of metal tank. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish floral, weeds, flowers, bark, harsh yeast, hay, old moss, minerals, old leafs, heather, grass. Medium bitterness, slightly dry and harsh mineraly mouthfeel. Not my cup of tea.

Heidbummer (976) - SCOTLAND - FEB 9, 2017
Bottle from Beerbods. Pours pale yellow with big foamy head. Grassy, acidic herby nose. More of that on the taste, but it’s a little thin overall. Nice, but too soft for me to be really good. I blended it with a malty amber from Wiper and True and that produced the best of two worlds.

ForlornHope (546) - Hampshire, ENGLAND - JAN 30, 2017
Bottle at home. Slightly hazy yellow with a white head. Interesting aroma of yeast, spice, lemon and funky hop. Sweet start with a gentle bitterness. Sherbet lemon, light syrupness and a slight dough-like back note. Well-carbonated and refreshing.

jamestulloch (4415) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - NOV 13, 2016
Bottle from The Beerhive. Milky golden body with a whipped white head. Lively carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of carrots, straw and has orange pith. Flavour of white pepper, yeast and oat cakes. Medium body with a powdery texture. Light fizz. Rustic and unusual. This grew on me.

Keg at the bottle shop. A bright translucent golden yellow coloured pour with a fine white head. Aroma is rustic pale grains, grass, damp hay, leaves, hint of twig. Flavour is composed of crisp semi sweet grains, spicy citrus, lemon rind, straw and a little veg Cucumber character. Palate is semi sweet frothy carbonation nice dry finish. Pretty good

imdownthepub (15517) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 27, 2016
Keg at The Craft Beer Co., Brighton, E.Sussex. Clouded orange gold with white head. Sweet and rather fruity beer, light on the palate, some Belgian yeast hints, tastes a little under done, but maybe that’s the point of a Saison. It’s fine.

Camons (13495) - Hasselager, DENMARK - DEC 17, 2015
Draught @ Sloan Square, Milan. Pours hazy dark golden with a white head, light lacing. Aroma of malt, yeasty, little grain, flowers, spice, pepper. Flavor is malt, yeasty, bread, flowrs, spice, Medium body, average to lively carbonation, light dry finish. 111215

jjsint (3600) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - NOV 10, 2015
Keg at the Pint Shop, Cambridge. Dark gold and quite hazy. Bit white foamy head but it dissipates fairly quickly. Green apple, a bit of clove in the aroma. Clove sticks out a bit for me. Taste is more rounded, a yeasty sweetness combines with a sharp fruity tartness. Biscuit, blueberry and nutmeg in the finish. Too cold and too carbonated, but the body holds up well. Good saison.

minutemat (6210) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - MAY 4, 2015
Keg @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours hazy blonde with full white head. Aroma is light yeast, unfortunately no rosehips as promised. Taste is light, refreshing, breezy with fleeting spice although touching towards over-carbonation. Overall, good but not one the best of Burning Sky’s saisons.
