Bottle from Middle Farm. Effervescent and bready, like all of the best saisons, but it has some additional complexity from the herbal additions that give it some floral notes. Noticeable tartness, but it’s quite restrained and it adds to the other tastes rather than overwhelms them.

Lys gulbrun med høyt hvitt skum. Lukter halm, blomster, noe grapefrukt og urter. Lett. Sitrusbitter, korn og noe gjær. Kort.

tfredvik (2032) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAR 18, 2017
Pours a cloudy, medium yellow body with an average-sized, white, long-lived head that laces the glass well. Strong aroma of sweet fruits, apples, spices and some butterscotch in the back. Strong flavour of citrus, apples, black pepper and a touch of butterscotch. Light sweet taste with a light to moderate bitter long-lasting finish. Light and dry on the palate. Close to decent, but doesn’t strike me as a typical saison, and the butterscotch is a bit disturbing.
[40 cl from tap @ Nydalen Bryggeri og Spiseri, Oslo]

Bottle, enjoyed half a year before bbd. Pours hazy, light yellow, with a big creamy head receding to finger thickness. Aroma is wooden yeast and tart fruit peel, as well as floral bretty notes and berries. Medium body, with soft to average carbonation. Flavour is tart fruity notes, fruit peel and berries, as well as hay, wooden bretty notes and dry yeast.

Bottle. Little Leeds Beer House. Hazy, straw colour. Thick, sudsy, lasting, white head. Nose is grassy and herbal. Notes of privet leaf and lemongrass. White pepper. Sweet, pale bread yeastiness. Taste has bready sweetness. Thin, watery mouthfeel. Foamy carbonation. Finishes soapy and thin. Not for me.

Keg Half Pint at Craft Beer Co, Clapham, London in March 2014 - Cloudy Orange in colour. Good head. Lemon citrus. Spicy. Earthy. Sour. Rustic. Didn’t identify the Hawthorne leaves and berries. Mildly bitter sour fruity spicy throughout. Very refreshing. Very drinkable. (2014-03-15)

Countbeer (6599) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - SEP 17, 2016
Draught @ Carnivale Brettanomyces ’16: Served in a taster: Bright hazy yellow body. White foamy head. Smelly yeasty hay and grainy mess... Flavours of tea herbs, some spice, some herbs, grass, hay... Aftertaste is herbal and plastic... Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel... Not good!

Draft sample at In De Wildeman during Carnival Brettanomyces 2016. Amsterdam, The Netherlands. 24.06.2016. Taste with Ogi and Aart. Pour it hazy yellow color with small white head. Aroma clove, herbal, crazy funky feel. Taste lots of herbal feel, like a tea, lemon just a pinch, cloves, tea with lemon actually, medium body, thin feel, soft carbonation, long finish. Crazy!

bierkoning (13687) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - JUN 27, 2016
Tap @ Wildeman. Blonde. Hints of brett and citrus in the aroma and flavor. Totally dry. Characterful.
