COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Burnside Lime Kolsch is brewed as a German style Kolsch made with premium pilsner malt and a touch of wheat and Munich malts. We then add Tettnanger hops, and ferment with the German ale yeast at 59 degrees to create a crisp, dry, and thirst quenching beer. Then the Burnside twist; we hand zested 200 limes, steeped a pound of Kaffir Lime leaf in the kettle, and added lemongrass to the bright tank. The result, a highly drinkable summer ale with hints of exotic ingredients from the east. Drink it with a lime!

Draft at the source. Very pale hazy yellow. The lime makes an appearances in the aroma, but really cones home to roost in the flavor. Holy cow.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Hazy blond color. On the sweet side for a Kölsch, or maybe it’s the lack of bitterness; could be any anonymous Lager; luckily the lime is just a hint in the aroma and flavor, not too evident.
Beer for the uneducated drinker, very boring, but clean.

On tap at St. Augustine’s, pours a clear pale copper blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out light notes of lime and subdued biscuity malt. Flavour is dominated by fresh lime, leaving little else available to be discerned. A totally lime-dominated beer. It’s okay.

On tap @ Burnside. Clear golden beer with a white head. Smells more like lemongrass to me, but there is some lime in there. Light malt aroma and flavor, but still there. Kind of a cracker note, too. Somewhat tangy, perhaps a touch of limeade. It’s not bad, but not really a Kolsch.

Draft - Soured citrus and grains. Clear gold with a decent white head. Grains and lime. Decent.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Kaffir lime leaf aroma. Med minus body. Flavor is lime, not extreme, with zest and kaffir leaf distingquishable. Pale malt. Ends sort of citrus bitter - leaf and zest build up stronger. Interesting.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear gold with a medium sized white head. Bright lime zest on the nose, a touch of grain. Medium bodied, sweetness and a touch of grain. Lime zest again, soft and easy. Lime into the finish, grain and a bit of sweetness and a hint of crackers. This one comes off a touch flabby, but still tasty.

gnoff (10814) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - JUL 5, 2015
Sampled on June 29, 2015. At the brewpub in Portland.
Clear golden color, white head. Malty, lime taste. Lime aftertaste. Lime scented detergent scent. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness.

Bottle shared with Parksy and Doug. Hazy medium gold, very carbonated, requiring several pauses in the pour. Dry pithy lime, intrusive soft plastic phenols, biscuit malt.

Strykzone (7560) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JUN 24, 2015
Sampled at the brewpub. Clear golden with a wite layer. Lime hits first sip and it works well here. A nice base beer behind that. A great summer time offering.
