22. Pours a murky dark brown with a loose sudsy tan ring. Light sudsy lace. Big malty iced tea nose, blended with roasty brown bread notes and a little bit of faint citric floral complement. Creamy medium body with soft carb. Toasty dark brown bread mid palate with a little bit of floral counterpoint. Long brown bread iced tea finish.
Bottle @ joes. Very hazyaber with a small offwhite head. Smells malty, sweet, barleywine. Tastes sweet, barleywine, honey, slightly roasty. Full body, soft carbo. monk191 (2023) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 14, 2016
A nice winter warmer overall. Pours a very nice deep red with a white head. Smells great, Belgian candi sugar. Taste has more candi sugar, but ends a bit sickly sweet. Had on tap at the brewery.

Rating #1687 -April 2015 - On tap at Burnside with the CBI crew. Lots of similar flavours on the palate to the barrel variant, lots of roast malt bitterness and very present rum sweetness, hoppy edge. Hops much more present on the nose and on the palate. Edgy, a little sharp, a little rowdy for a winter ale. SudsMcDuff (8468) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - JUN 25, 2016
on tap at the brewpub, nice place .. . spice, grass, tree bark, alcohol .. medium mouth, soft carbonation .. feels hearty, nice but wouldn’t want again .. . . there is just no dignified way to scooch out of a booth. DuffMan (10602) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 26, 2016
Bottle shared with Parksy and Malfair. Orange Amber with an off white head. Bready caramel, marmalade, moderate bitterness. I liked this more than expected.

Hazy Amber color, creamy head. Full bodied beer, moderately sweet, with good malt and caramel flavor, strong bitterness;/some hop resins.
But also a strong buttery aroma and flavor. Toffee and fudge.
Something is wrong with this one, although it a not too bad.
Small yellow head, irregular, over hazy darker red-amber beer. Fruity & vegetable nose; "forgotten" vegetables, and the fruit is starting to rot.... Banana(peel), caramel, fusels. Bitter-sweet. Finish is nearly wry, but main taste sweet-fruit, as fruitmash with quinine. Retronasal amandine/rosewater; Very slick to viscous, hopoils, tartness backthroat. Some alcohol present. The nose just isn’t right. Drinking is easier. mcberko (18573) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 14, 2016
On tap at St. Augustine’s, pours a hazy orange amber with a small white head. Aroma bursts with many different elements, including dark fruits, resinous hops, caramel malts and candied sugar. Flavour is very sugary sweet, with lots of resinous hops, caramel malts and lots of residual candied sugar. Despite the intense sweetness, I quite like it. Rather cloying, but it’s complex enough to be enjoyable in small amounts. Very good. commonshawn (1311) - Minnesota, USA - MAR 6, 2016
Tap at brewery. Pint glass. Mahogany with small white head. Subtle aroma. Malty, a bit sweet grain, then alcohol hop. Not very crisp. More like an old ale than an american strong. Idiosynkrasie (7843) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - FEB 12, 2016
650ml bottle. Cloudy, dark amber colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Fruity hoppy and mildly spicy aroma, notes of orange are fully integrated in a caramel malty body, an additional lemon dash, hints of cinnamon, chewing gum. Taste is caramel malty with notes of cinnamon, a nuttily touch, mixed with orange fruitiness and hints of lemon juice, notes of Wrigley’s Big Red and Juicy Fruit. Lasting, minimally biting, peppery spicy and bitter hoppy finish, slightly chewy mouthfeel, minimally viscous palate.
