thick creamy dark roasted malts on the nose. Hint of smoke. In the mouth it’s campfire smoke wih plenty of slick sweetness in a milky fashion. Graham crackers offer that sweetness I think. Their toasty caramel must be masked by the other flavours. HopMage (3) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 13, 2012 does not count
Amber brown color, low head. Light, slightly sweet aroma but not very noticeable. The flavor is very good though, with the spices coming through nicely and chocolate flavors.would have liked more smokey flavor but still a strong offering. maekchu (3953) - Hirakata, JAPAN - AUG 31, 2012
Draught at the brewpub. Sweet, candyish aroma, with some spice. Red color. Initial flavor... almost none; mid palate tastes like dirty concrete; finish goes to a mis-mash that is unpleasant. Very thin, for a porter. I admire their taste for experimentation, but this one really does not work (or the batch is off). troopie (2351) - Munchen an der Willamette, Oregon, USA - JUL 21, 2012
Great looking porter. Lots of lacing. Aroma was feeble but pleasant , n bietjie rook., Flavour redeemed the aroma, malt, chocolate and smoke in a good balance. Malty finish with a chocolate note. Drink this if you find it. ration (2248) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUL 13, 2012
Tap at the brewery. Pours dark brown/black with a small head. Aroma smoke, burnt malts. Medium smokey taste with a nice dry finish. Not bad.
