12oz can. Filtered oorange-copper body. Big, classic, spicy noble hop aroma, some brewhouse as well..but some off pungent tones as well. Doesn't really nail it in terms of lagering..has more fruity amber malt tones, drinks more like an ale. Really not that impressive of an offering at all, vomit off infection tones grow as it warms. Taste: smooth gentle malt sweetness, roasted malt nose.
Amber in color, mostly clear, Delicate head with nice lattice on glass. Medium body. Easy drinking with creamy mouth-feel.

UPDATED: OCT 29, 2016 Draft right after the dry hop okto. It literally tastes like a pumpkin beer with jops replacing pie spice. Just not what I’m looking for in a maerzem.

Great Oktoberfest. Slightly cloudy orange with a foamy head of mixed bubbles. Great, rich, toasty, fresh malt character but not too sweet. Earthy hop bitterness in the finish. Sampler pour on tap at the brewpub (Chicago, IL). My first stop in saw 10 drafts. This was one. Pours a nice amber pour, a touch of darkness but lighter than expected. Bubbly with a well sized tannish head atop. Stays firm sized, laces ok. Aromas are touch toasty and biscuity, bread malts, touches of gentle florals and spice. Mellow sweetness, apple, more bread, gentle toastiness. Lighter and a bit sweeter than expected. Initial is a bit better, toasty and biscuity up front, firm toasty malts, gentle spice, almost into caramel and even cocoa which was a bit odd. Toast, biscuits, and caramel. Some gentle spice and dryness at times. Middle is a bit sticky, but more toast and darker middle slanted. A touch girthy, caramel and butterscotch jabs. Backend is a bit earthy, gentle dry earthy hops, grass and florals make appearances. Wins me back a bit more. Odd sweet twang at times, richer toasty biscuity malt presence at others. Dry earthy hops into the back with a bit of spice. Odd one, with good and bad kinda battling. Perhaps they’ll lock this down over time.
