Towey1989 (2939) - Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 15, 2017
Cask at The Green Dragon, Leek (JDW) A clear amber colour with a frothy white head. Aroma of caramel, slight nuts and subtle hedgerow fruits. Taste of caramel, some nuts, slight hedgerow fruits and subtle low quality treacle. Light bodied and soft carbonation. A dryish, nutty bitterness in the finish. A plain, simple, but a watery bitter. Some fruit and a touch of hop but below average.

Cask @ Richard Oastler, Brighouse. Clear golden with a creamy head. It’s a malty-floral bitter in a smooth easy-drinking texture.

Amber appearance. Taste bit thin. Caramel hints but overall nothing special and too much sulphur.

The_Osprey (8216) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 3, 2017
Cask handpull at The Crosse Keys London as Battle of Burton Bridge Battle Brew July 1643, 5%. Cool old fashioned pump clip like something out of a book on brewing heritage. Amber orange, translucent and still, foamy greyish beige head leaves full lacing. Aroma is stewed spiced orange, some sweaty socks and sweaty rubber. There is a touch of sulphur on the aroma too. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste has more orange citrus peel, resinous hops and papery yeast, floral drying astringency against a background of fruit squash. Gets quite papery over time. Interesting old school beer but maybe a touch thin. (5-4-5-3-13=3.1)
