Cask handpull at The Crosse Keys London as Battle of Burton Bridge Battle Brew July 1643, 5%. Cool old fashioned pump clip like something out of a book on brewing heritage. Amber orange, translucent and still, foamy greyish beige head leaves full lacing. Aroma is stewed spiced orange, some sweaty socks and sweaty rubber. There is a touch of sulphur on the aroma too. Body is smooth with soft carbonation. Taste has more orange citrus peel, resinous hops and papery yeast, floral drying astringency against a background of fruit squash. Gets quite papery over time. Interesting old school beer but maybe a touch thin. (5-4-5-3-13=3.1) anders37 (26726) - Malmö, SWEDEN - DEC 15, 2014
