COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
It was created in 1933 by Alfred Dubuisson, grand-father of the present family brewer, Hugues. Its former name was "Bush Beer 24°" (the density in Ballings), but today it is known as Bush Amber. Its amber colour is due to the use of caramel malt in the production process. Its bitter sweet taste provides it with firmness and personality. What's more, it helps digestion.

Orange amber color with a thin off white head. Sweet aroma with an alcohol note. Medium thick body, smooth and syrupy. Tastes of honey liqueur, butter, and caramel. Sweet and strong but I actually think its strength is hidden pretty well, I’ve had a lot worse. It is fairly simple though: sweet and alcohol.

Light amber colour, nice lacing. Aroma is quite strong: banana, fruits, caramel, after some time i could also sense some paint thinner. Taste is sweet, spicy, alcohol is surprisingly well hidden, low bitterness, some hoppy notes. Not bad, but one dimensional.

Aroma: sickly sweet with apple juice notes; Appearance: clear amber pour with thin white head that lingers; Taste: follows nose, unfortunately. Very sweet with slight booziness at end. Not good. Palate: heavy body with long, sweet finish. Overall: will not get again.

Served in a tulip this beer’s a light amber gold and semi-opaque with a dense eggshell white head of foam that reminds me of whip cream. The aroma is boozy caramel with rich stone fruits - primarily plums and dates. Surprisingly sharp carbonation and after the rich sweet heat and 12% warmth spreading out from your stomach you find a bone dry finish. The taste is sweet umeshu, burnt caramel and a bitter herbal hop (?) character. Too strong in alcohol and dry for my tastes but I think if I pair this with a creme brule donut I picked up it’s richness with balance out this beer. Good value and you can use it to sip on a fall evening or pick up 4 for 1000 yen and get wasted.

Cloudy, dark orange with a medium white head; a little bit of lace is there. On the nose: apricot, orange/tangerine, raisins, brown sugar, buttery malts, toasted bread, floral sweetness, honey, caramel, and a little bit of hops. Starts off strong with tart & bitter notes. It develops into some rich creamy malt notes and an array of dried fruit & syrupy sweetness with some floral qualities as well. The booze bursts into the foreground just for a second and then fades slowly into the finish; the very end is accompanied by some citrus fruits and hops. The alcohol becomes very prominent when the beer warms up; the other flavors are still there but have mellowed out quite a bit. Medium-high carbonation; medium body; sharp/crisp arrival and development; balanced finish when cold and dry when warm. Simply put, this Belgian Strong Pale Ale is lovely, complex, and memorable.

Look, aroma and taste reminiscent of a liqueur like Cointreau. A lot of orange peel, light bitterness but not so sweet and rather dry.

Bouteille 33cl, V&B Grenoble.
