COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Created in June 1998, Bush Blond is obviously a discovery in the strong blond ales market in which it will undoubtedly play a major role. It has a light and glistering colour. Hugues Dubuisson who is the current brewer wanted it to be worthy of the famous Bush Amber and gave it the same nice aroma and flavour.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Hogerdijk, Culemborg. Hazy golden with a big white head. Very fruity aroma, with hints of vanilla and spices. Yeasty taste with some very present alcohol. Medium bitter aftertaste and lively carbonation. Too overpowered blonde in terms of alcohol content. Maybe if the ABV was lowered to 8% the result wouldnt be so harsh and boozy

The beer looks like any other Belgian blonde ale. The color of the beer is golden yellow. The beer ahas a slight haze. A lot of bubbles can be seen rising towards the top. On top of the beer a nice layer of soft white foam is formed. The majority of the foam collapses, leaving a nice soft drape. The smell isnt that great. It isnt bad, but thats it. I smell mals, some bitter hops and a rather sour basement yeast aroma. Not that great. The smell has to many sour things going on. Not that much else. It isnt very special. I did expect a bit more to be honest. The taste is better, but still not extremely good. I taste malts, some bitter hops and yeast. The yeast has a slight sourness and some sweeter components. There is a strong alcohol flavour. To strong. It is a bit out of balance. Its just high on alcohol, without it being balanced. The palate is average to. Medium body, rather high carbonation and a fruity banana yeast finish with strong alcohol warmth. Meh, I did expect a bit more. The beer is good, dont get me wrong, but it isnt that special. It is just another Belgian Strong Ale, like there are many. There isnt anything that makes this beer stand out compared to the rest.

Hazy gold, tall white dense head. Good retention. Sweet malts and yeast on nose. Fruit. Vinous. A hint of metal. Medium to full body. Malty taste start. After that fruity and spicy yeast and solid booziness. Light to medium bitterness formed by hops and alcohol.

Flesje thuis gedronken. Goudgeel bier met vlokken. Grof schuim tijdens inschenken zakt snel weg. Weinig aroma, de smaak is echter verrassend fruitig en zoet. Enigszins sprankelend in de mond. Drinkt gevaarlijk licht weg voor een bier van 10.5 ABV.

Review: 33cl bottle of Bush Blonde: ABV: 10.5% The Bush Blonde, on the go since 1988, and introduced by Hugues Dubuisson on the 65th anniversary of the Bush Ambre launched by his grandfather, Alfred. Considered to be one of the strongest beers from Belgium coming in at an alcoholic volume of 10.5% A lot, and I mean a lot, of gas on the pour, a bit of a mess truth been told. Full of carbonation, resulting in a massive head and a beer that took a long time to settle. It also was very murky looking, a lot of sediment in the bottom of the glass floating around, which looked a bit worrying and not at all appetizing. Head does die eventually to leave a small but decent looking head that maintains, and an orange looking beer. Minimal lacing. Overall, it looks terrible! One of the worst I have seen. On the nose get a strong citrus and fruity smell. Taste: initial taste, it was fucking horrible, a harsh alcohol taste, but once it settles down and I settled down myself from the shock, it is actually not too bad. Smooth enough for a 10% beer Can feel the alcohol alright but quaffable enough and not overpowering, not hoppy Smooth enough, all things considering (all the carbonation) Not hoppy. No bitter tastes. Yeah not bad A lot of sweet malts, some sweet fruits, and yeast. Overall this beer tastes a million times better than it looks, and after you get over the initial hit of all the strong smells and taste, it eventually is a beer to savour.

Bottle. Pours hazy amber with small off-white head. Clear aroma of malt and fruit, with notes of flowers and yeast and touches of hops. Bitter, hoppy flavour with sweet kotes of malt, fruit and yeast. Bitterish aftertaste. Warming alcohol presence. Reasonable.

Achel (485) - Ioannina, GREECE - FEB 2, 2017
Slightly hazy, orangey-gold coloured, creamy white head; impressive sweetish-fruity nose (peaches, ananasses, apricots) mixed with some yeast and a resinous hoppy touch; solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied, sweet-fruity, slightly alcoholic finish with a distinctive aromatic bitterness in the aftertaste. A great, well balanced, well quaffable brew.
