This is a sweet beer with a pleasant flavour of hops. Indeed, for Bush de Noel, the brewer uses a traditional process which consists in placing hops flowers in the vats where the beer rests for four to six weeks by which time it will have reached full maturity, giving it a very distinctive taste. In the U.S the label generally reads Scaldis Noel.

Very good looking brew, but its creamy flavor and mouthfeel makes the expectations falling down. Some alcoholic taste and enormous amounts of fruit flavors. Good for the fireplace!

2005 vintage on tap at Uber. Very cloudy almost creamy looking apple cider brown with big off white head. Sweet and slightly sour aroma. Not much spice in the aroma. But, good spice and fermented sour apple in the taste. Looks and tastes a lot like alcoholic apple cider. Alcohol is very mellow compared to the 06 fresher version.

Pours a gorgeous dark copper color with a thin haze. Head is medium big, creamy and persistant. It leaves a film that stays until the end of the glass. Fantastic malty aroma with yeasty touches. There are notes of chestnuts, plums, prunes, molasses and scotch whisky. I could even discern some woody hints and traces of raisins, clove, licorice and cookies. Flavor is strong, bold, sweet and liquorish. Notes of chestnut, hazelnut, almonds and amaretto which gives a nice bitter counterpoint. Low hop presence. Excellent. Body is big, creamy and smooth. Medium carbonation. Elegant and complex character. Succulent. Warming high alcohol presence, slightly overpowering. Finish is alcoholic and rather short. It leaves a nutty aftertaste. Amazing.

Pours a medium / dark amber with small head. Has a sweet / sour aroma. Flavor has nice malty spices with a nice warming effect. A nice Christmas Eve sipper.

Pours muddy pale brown with a big creamy head. Lightly vinious with plenty of caramel malts in the aroma. Taste is equally vinious, gaining more character as the beer heats up. Quite sweet with some coriander.

Poured from bottle into my Unibroue tulip. Pours a "dirty" looking brown color with over an inch of head. This beer has a color to it that Ive not had before in a beer. Has good carbonation, plenty of tiny bubbles racing to top of glass. Smell is strong yeast with some fruits and alcohol notes coming through. Has a very nice malty taste. Very thick with what tastes like some rum soaked cherries. Mouthfeel is very creamy and very pleasant. This is a very good belgian. To be honest though, I was expecting a little more spice or other tones to be in this beer. It is a Christmas offering after all. Its still a very solid beer.

Solid ale, but not a great smell. It makes up for this with a great, almost tart taste.

Mostly opaque medium brown orangey hues and a thin tan head. Taste is sweet, spiced and lightly astringent which burns a bit on exhale.$5/8.5oz

Bottle. Hazy red/brown colour with a slim white head. Very nice aroma of vanilla and spices, with malt, fruit and caramel. Sweet flavour finishing lightly bitter. Caramel, dried fruits and malts and spices throughout. Alcohol is reasonably well hidden, becoming warming in the finish. Medium bodied and a fair amount of carbonation. Nice.
