Bottle shared at CBC CW during The Cad 10yr celebrations, London. Thanks to Peter for this one. It pours a dark copper color with small beige head. Aroma is sweet, syrupy, molasses, toffee, maple syrup, burnt sugar. Taste is just a sugary mess, in-line with the aroma. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Overall, not my cup of tea. Bottle from WB Stores, West Bromwich. Black beer with fizzy medium tan head. Aroma reminds me of the malts I smell from the Burton breweries as I drive past on my way to work along with a good glut of toffee. Taste is toffee, caramel, rye bread as mentioned by others is definitely to the forefront. It reminds of a lighter bodied Mathers Black Beer from my homeland. Bottle shared at The Cad’s 10 year get together. Thanks to Peter. 29/03/2015. Aroma is rough, sweet bread, burnt sugar, caramel. Meaty on the nose. Copper/ brown coloured pour with a lasting creamy head. Flavour is composed of sweet Rye bread, sweet caramel, bready, very sickly sweet. Palate is very sweet, malty, lowish carbonation. Lingering malt dried malt / DME. Meh.

Bottle shared at the Cad’s 10th Anniversary Tasting - CBC Clerkenwell, London. Thanks to The Peter. Pours a compelling clear amber with a frothy tan head. Big sugary bread and caramel aroma. A heartily sugary flavor follows, with plenty more bread and caramel, some sugar syrup, berries, brown sugar, toffee. Light in body with average carbonation. Nose is nutty, dark fruit rinds, dates, brown bread with a sweat on, toffee.
Taste comprises sweet licks, brown sugar, stewed dates and prunes, toffee pangs, sweaty fruit loaf loaded with brown sugar.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, sweet lickings to close.

Massive bottle at The Cad’s 10 yr Shindig. Thanks to the Peter. It pours dark brown with a thick tan head. The nose is crazy sweet, slightly spice, damp cardboard, brown sugar and sticky caramel. The taste is pretty similar....so very sweet, sticky, treacle, sugary, brown bread, caramel and toffee with a sweet finish. Light body and average carbonation. Jesus.... too sweet. Bottle share at the Cad’s 10 year celebration. Thanks to Peter. Impressed that you can buy a litre of this for €2.50. Black, decent foamy tan head. Aroma is strong with rye bread and sweet toffee. Body is medium, low carbonation, slightly foamy. Taste is very, very sweet. Molasses, liquorice, dense sticky rye bread concentrate. I generally dislike sweet beers, but I thought this was enjoyable. Fun to try.
