Bottle. Amber, hazy, small to average and fully diminishing light brown head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel and light roasted malt, light berry fruitiness and faint chocolate. Body is moderate to full and malty and sweetish, some caramel and light berry fruitiness. Finish is average to long, malty and sweetish, some caramel and light roasted malt with faint licorice, light hoppyness. Caramel sweetish strong ale - way too sweet for me.

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a dark mahogany with a frothy broken off-white head. The aroma is of yeast, a little raisin and some smoke too. The flavour is medium sweet light bitter with a spicy hop smokey palate and a long bitter finish. One of the best beers I’ve had from Butchers Tears. Nicely balanced and very drinkable.

On tap at the brewpub. Deep brown pour with thin foamy head. Aroma of caramel, light peat notes, burnt toast and a hint of licorice, kind of spicy. Taste is sweet with a spicy finish, mild fruity alcohol flavor. Palate is med-full bodied with light carbonation. Nice brew.
