COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Butcombe Bitter was the brewery’s only beer until 1998, and only available in cask until 2009 when it was made available in the bottle to take advantage of increased sales after winning the Silver Medal at the 2009 Great British Beer Festival. Name change from Bitter to Original had occurred by 2017.
Ingredients: Mendip Spring Water; 100% best Maris Otter Malt; a blend of (never divulged) traditional English hop varieties.
The West Country’s favourite beer is notably bitter, clean tasting, refreshingly dry, distinctive, and moreish!

BlackHaddock (7586) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - SEP 27, 2017
500ml bottle: BBD 2nd Sep 2018. Poured into an 'Old Speckled Hen' badged UK pint glass, vase shaped. Nice amber body, clean and clear, wispy white head. Nose has a malty dominance, as does the initial taste: toffee and caramel too the fore. The hops kick in late to balance the finish nicely, giving a dry a slightly bitter aftertaste.

hrabren (1370) - Zagreb, CROATIA - SEP 24, 2017
Thanks Marko for buying and bringing this bottle! Dark golden, moderate off-white head. Toasty, light metallic, very low bitterness. Light dry and bitter. Kinda smooth, refreshing, medium body, moderate to high carbonation. Good.

gorthaurz (87) - CROATIA - AUG 12, 2017
Pours clear dark amber, with literally no head. Aroma of malts, caramel and some nutty aromas. Taste of roasted malts and caramel, watery, metallic. Short bitter finish.

Lore (2873) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUL 15, 2017
clear dark reddish amber to mahogany colour, moderate sized creamy yellowish off-white head; aroma of toffee, toasted bread crust, some minimal raisins, dried fruity and slight floral notes; taste is practically the same; really enjoyable bitter; I like it!

inbirraveritas (1611) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUL 4, 2017
Bottled, 500 ml. Clear copper body with a small off-white pillow on its top. Smell and taste of marmalade, aroma brings caramel, some toast, hints of earth... slick mouthfeel. Dried fruity, mild toasty finish. Good.

Fules (1342) - Gyöngyös, HUNGARY - JUN 28, 2017
Kicsi, gyorsan eltűnő hab vörösréz szín. Illata enyhén karamelles, fűszeres. Kissé fanyar, karamelles, fűszeres ízvilág. Könnyed, nem vizes, enyhén szénsavas, enyhén keserű. Kellemes ivósör.

Pallleon (435) - Budapest, HUNGARY - JUN 22, 2017
Nagy melegben az egyik legjobb szomjoltó sör volt. Könnyed, kevés szénsav, jól iható sör. Kicsit vizes, de ettől csak jobban csúszik.
