A clean tasting, refreshing, easy to drink premium bitter. Made using the palest English malt (sometimes known as lager malt), with the addition of finest Slovenian Styrians and Czechoslovakian Saaz hops. A light and fruity beer with unmistakeable citrus notes.

500 ml bottle. Finland.
Cloudy golden colour with tiny white head. Sweetish fruity hops in aroma. Bitter fruity hops in flavour. Quite mild and easy. Goes well if there’s nothing else than lager to sip.

taunusmies (391) - FINLAND - MAR 18, 2010
Pours clear, golden colour. Small white head. Nice dryish hoppy aroma with fruits and a hint of hay and citrus. Light mouthfeel, leaves medium long aftertaste.

pivnizub (10955) - Bochum, GERMANY - MAR 6, 2010
Bottle: Pale golden to golden, hazy, small to medium sized lacy white head; moderate to solid noble-hoppy nose with a grainy-fruity background; soft, almost medium bodied, moderate to robust bitter-sweet flavour; lingering hoppy and lemony fruity finish, balanced by some sweet pale malt. Fine english Ale.....

Clear golden color, small white head. Grassy, sweet malty, a bit yeasty aroma. Crisp, some peppery hoppyness and honey, some fruits. Quite boring and lager-like.

DruncanVeasey (8585) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - NOV 2, 2009
Bottle out of one of those disposable ribbed plastic cups, The Travell Lodge, Bath. Bright lager gold under a fine white collar. Grassy, herbal, faint lemon and orange zest aroma with a dab of manure-speckled straw. Hay and faint celery, grapefruit and orange licks, shampoo finish persisting bitterly. Afters of biscuit, vanilla, peanut. Pleasant grassy blond leaning towards lager.

50cm bottle, brown. Clean, medium white head that disappears quickly. Straw-colored, pale yellow beer. Surprisingly intense aroma of orchard fruit, hay and hops. Taste is also agreeably fruity, with strong hop notes on top, malty sweetness underneath. Long but not very bitter finish. Medium-to-low carbonation. Rather complex for a pale ale, which is what this is, and very easily drinkable. Just lovely!

MoritzF (10203) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - AUG 9, 2009
(bottle, as Butcombe Blond Calassic Pale Bitter, 4.5% abv) Hazy, pale golden colour with a short blond foamy head. Sweet pale malt accompany with a good dash of citrus-fruity, flowery and slightly woody hops. Mildly bitter flavour, light bodied with a smooth carbonation. Dry character with a light underlying malty sweetness, aromatic hops profile of a cornucopia full of citrus flavours; dry and bitter-sweet finish with a good and hoppy duration. Pleasant (09.VIII.09).

gary07734 (500) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - JUL 29, 2009
Pours pale golden blonde, decent white head. Aroma is cerealy and hops, taste is quite lager-ish, but with more cereal and oat flavours, finishes with dry bitter hops. Decent light beer.

oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - SEP 30, 2008
Bottled@Monks Café, Stockholm. Pale golden colour, not much head. Aroma is hops, grass, mild notes of wood and that’s about it. Flavour is hops, wood and some grassy notes. Mild/smooth bitterish grassy finish.

Svesse (9114) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - JUL 3, 2008
(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm, 1 July 2008) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Floral, grassy nose with citrus (lemon, grapefruit) and fresh notes of grassy hops. Malty, grassy taste with notes of citrus and fresh grassy, floral hops in a fairly short finish. Light body. Decent, tasty blond ale with a fresh, floral hop character.
