Really nice orange-colured British IPA with discreet but endearing scents of citrus, pine and hops. Very well balanced maltbase - and a super-refreshing taste. More forthcoming than many of its American cousins. cgreb (422) - Marburg, GERMANY - JAN 6, 2011
bottle - hazy amber orange beer with an off-white head. Nice fresh and citrus hops aroma with grassy notes. Flavour has a decent bitterness and a sufficient maltiness. Medium carbonation. cgarvieuk (24499) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - NOV 5, 2010

Clear amber color, decent creamy off-white head. Yeasty, pine, pineapple, bread, citrus in the nose. Medium-bodied. Flavor is similar: a bit yeastyness, citrus, bread, spruce, fruity hoppyness. Very British bitter and the best Butcombe beer so far I’ve rated.
Bottle picked up at Bellingers, Jet Garage, Grove, Nr Wantage, Oxon, consumed 28-07-10 Pours dark gold, amber with white head. Lacks in aroma but there is some malt. I didn’t mind this but not really in the vein of an IPA at all, quite earthy, malty, some hops and fruit. A6 A3 T7 P3 Ov13 3.2

cask at Guildford Arms - Pours copper-orange and mostly clear with a mild aroma of bready malt and some hops. The flavor is of sweet, bready malt with a little bit of citrus. It’s mildly bitter. Not bad. chrisv10 (17435) - DENMARK - JUN 19, 2010
Bottle. Clear amber with off-white head. Flavour is malt, caramel, fruit and hops. Gary (1999) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 16, 2010
It was kinda ironic that as I drank this I watched on TV, Michael Portilo the former politician visit the Burton Bridge brewery to showcase their contribution of IPA in the world . This beer i was drinking was not an IPA . I seem to say that alot with UK beer. Not an IPA in the American way or the old skool Burton bridge character. This beer looked attractive ,big beige head and orange’ish base. Notes of chewey caramel ..musty apple ester..some vanilla and a roasted nuttiness. Citrus hops . Just dull but ok and nothing to do with IPA. tarjei (1954) - Bryne, NORWAY - MAY 5, 2010
50 cl bottle, shared with Roger and Bjørnar. Dark golden color, very moderate head. Aroma is fruity and hoppy. Flavor is a bit sweet, malty and has ok bitterness. tkrjukoff (4335) - SWEDEN - APR 20, 2010
Pours amber brown with thin white head. Grapefruit, caramel-sweet fruity aroma. Low carbonation. Flavor of grapefruit, hartz, bitter hops, a bit acidy. Rich on the palate with sour/bitter hops and finish is very nice, long and bitter hoppy.
