Cask conditioned at The Cottage, Bristol. Dark brown with white head. Sweet and fruity beer with quite a plummy, soft note. Some toastiness from the malt, some bitterness. It’s ok. ManVsBeer (10760) - Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAR 24, 2013
UPDATED: MAY 1, 2015 Cask @ Post & Telegraph, Brighton. Fine tasting porter, mild in character although with a good body. Smoked aroma which is evident in its taste as well. SilkTork (5777) - Southampton, United Kingdom, Hampshire, ENGLAND - FEB 11, 2013
JDW, Rochester. A dark smoky beer. Tar is the dominant association. Its a great beer to accompany a cooked breakfast. Because of the assertive nature of the flavour, a full pint can be a bit heavy. FatPhil (16671) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JAN 29, 2013

Toffee aroma. A touch of burnt cake, complete with the raisins touching the side of the baking tray - delicious! Smooth soft palate. Very pleasant roast. Very easy drinker. The roast is quite a rich one, but not oppressive or ashy at all. A very solid porter. More please!
Cask at jdw. Dark brown with ruby tones. Light tan head. Roast aromas. Smooth roast flavour with mocha. Little carbonate. Solid beer. Well balanced.

Cask (JDW, Victoria Station, London) - Dark brown with some red tinges. Coffee, chocolate and liquorice in the aroma. Roasted taste with malt, coffee and plain chocolate detected. The finish is very roasted and lingers for quite a while. SarkyNorthener (4709) - West Bromwich (Yorkshire Expat), West Midlands, ENGLAND - JAN 12, 2013

1/2 at The Tilley Stone Gateshead. Dark clear red brown with a dense tan head. Toffee and nut aroma. Dark chocolate and dried fruit with a scrape of burnt toast. Full bodied, slick textured, lasting bitter hop finish. Lovely beer. mr_h (5720) - Ayr, SCOTLAND - JAN 1, 2013
Cask by handpump at West Kirk, Ayr - clear very dark brown with a hint of red showing through, strong roasted malt and dark chocolate aroma, minimal lacing, chocolate flavour, some toffee, the flavour is just a bit too strong for my liking
