Bottle shared by Rustyham. Pours clear caramel color with off white head. Caramel and alcohol aromas. Flavors of caramel, molasses and alcohol. Medium to full body with minimal carbonation. Thanks Nick. SSSteve (4006) - - APR 21, 2007
2007. hazy amber/orange color with a large yellow head. hoppy, fruity aroma with a hint of caramel. flavor is hoppy with a good caramel malt with a bourbon-like finish. strong alcohol presence. definitely needs some time to age. celogan (204) - Oroville, California, USA - FEB 24, 2008
Got this in a 22 oz bottle. Poured dark copper with slight head that evaporated in a short while but left some decent lacing. Adquate carbonation. Nose alcohol and malt. Flavor pretty malty and slightly sweet with a little hopiness, but not much (if you’re a hop-head anyway). Overall it is pretty smooth and very drinkable. Nice flavor. the 10.6 ABV co-insides with the label .. "you won’t walk away from this one"
If you drink one of these 22 ouncers, give someone your car keys for about an hour or so.
Absolutely worth drinking and having again, even for a hop-head it’s enjoyable, but don’t expect an IPA-Like Hopiness because it’s just not there. mabel (9246) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 13, 2008
[1525-20080711] 22floz bottle. Sweet malty fresh moss-covered rocks aroma. Slightly hazy, burnt amber body with a quick creamy off-white foam. Super boozy syrup malt flavour has "bitter grapefruit seeds" and a bit of toasted grains with a very bitter aftertaste. Medium-full body is heavy with a long-lasting astringency. Boozy heavy low notes is overall quite rough.

Deep red color with a white head. Decent lacing. Malt first type of barley wine with a nose of dark fruits. What holds this one back is it’s lack of flavor up front other than a caramel sweetness and it’s harsh alcohol finish.

Light bronze in color. Aroma is of poorly extracted malts and big alcohol, manure, hay, vitamins & minerals. Flavor is nasty, with some dirty, manure like flavors. shp555 (2024) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - APR 3, 2007
Pours a light amber color with a light brown head. Aroma is malty sweet, some brown sugar. Flavor is malty with notes of brown sugar. bitbucket (2165) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - APR 23, 2008
Bomber. This beer seems to be pretty close to the middle of the pack for beers named "Train Wreck" so I’m looking at it with a bit of trepidation. Pours clear coppery amber with a thick and lacy off-white head. Soft citrus, peach, toffee and grass aroma. The taste is not quite as rewarding - and more in line with the name. The taste starts toffee sweet, but hops are all over the place, and quickly stomp all over anything that’s going on with the malt. Herbal, perfumy, maybe with a little plastic? This one just doesn’t work for me. madmitch76 (24791) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JUN 7, 2011

Hazy amber brown beer with an off white head. Semi dry and semi soft palate. An odd barleywine. Salty with bitter astringent citrus that doesn’t overwhelm. The mid is tasty with malt and fruit but the back end is all bitterness. Beer was best when pretty cold and the bitterness was supressed.
Pours darker amber with a quick off-white head. Nose is floral hops, maple syrup and lots of booze. Bizarre flavor: a strong, almost chocolately malt sharply changes to bitter hops on the back without either developing properly. Not a good combination. Alcohol is also unhidden and makes for an unpleasant finish. Sub-standard for such a well-regarded style.
