Bottle (22oz). Shared with blankboy, gregclow, jerc, mabel & tupalev. Hazy deep orange pour, average frothy beige head. Papery malt aroma with dry slightly stale resin hop bitterness, a hint of dry wood. Sharp, bitter, boozy taste, orange zest and dry resin bitterness - a long, huge dry bitter finish. 650 ml. Clear, darkish copper with a lasting one-inch foam that leaves a delicate lacing behind. Aroma of butterscotch, sharp grain (like rye), earthy peat and toasted nut. Flavors of toffee, peat, cherry liqueur, pecan, oak and apple. Big aftertaste of bitter wood and pith is a bit harsh. Medium body is silky smooth, and tingly-peppery dry with alcohol, roast malt and bitter-pithy hops. Nice looking ale, dark orange, clear with a large thick creme coloured head.
Aroma is pretty faint, but it was was malty,slightly caramel.
Oh wow ..this is a strange flavour! Dark fruits, bitter malty and alcoholic all at once clashing in the first sip Pretty sugary in a sherry sort of way. After the first few sips it settles down into a very malty ,alcoholic taste , though not totally unpleasant.
Actually alright on the palate, a little sugary at times .
Overall a bit of a "train wreck" alright. Maybe this could improve with age.
Though its notvtotally bad now.

Bottle: Pours a murky brown color, a little head. The nose is brash with a caramel and bread debacle along with a starchy and piney hop conundrum. Alcohol is up there, and it’s spotted all over the place. Initially, mid drink, full after palate. Lingering. The bitterness sneaks up the rear and overpowers the otherwise tame malt body. Draft. Not the most balanced barley wine. Pours with a nice copper color and a faint head. Aromas of alcohol mainly, same with the flavor. Cloyingly sweet and very pronounced alcohol notes withe a bit of malts and caramel.
