COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Traditional Hefeweizen from Germany usually taste like cardboard because by the time you drink them, they’re not fresh anymore. Chuck brews Heinnieweisse with Bavarian yeast and a 67% wheat grist approximately 5000 miles closer to your mouth than Germany giving it a rich, fully fresh palate. Pour it and see the wheat cloudiness, smell the notes of estery aroma. At 4.9 % abv you’ll taste the effervescent, sweet yet tart freshness that no farty old German can boast. And what does an Alien have to do with any of this? Ever notice how a hop looks like an Alien’s head? Look again.

12 oz can purchased in Binghamton, NY. Pours to a hazy, bright golden color, with a tall, rocky head, and a lively carbonation. The nose on this beer is classic southern Bavarian hefeweizen, with aromas of clove, banana, and pear. The palate is tart, with good wheat malt flavors, paired with estery fruity flavors of banana and pear. This beer finishes with more good quenching, wheat malt flavor, then ends with a spicy clove flavor that lingers. Well done example of Bavarian hefeweizen. Very tasty, a beer I could drink lots of, and one that would be the perfect match to German fare.

Can pour from Cigarette City. Appearance is lightly hazy pale yellow with greenish tinge, effervescent sparkle with 3-finger width fizzy/foamy head with excellent retention and minimal lacing. Aroma is mild citrus, fruit, alongside yeast, vague metallic scent. Taste is strong citrus and banana, light clove. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with watery texture, lively carbonation and lightly sweet and tart finish. Overall, I was expecting a disaster based on low ratings but this was decently average--certainly not unpleasant.

Butternuts Heinniewiesse Farmhouse ale 12oz. can served in pint glass (from 2010 notes) A - mildly cloudy light golden with moderate white head T - moderate strength for style. Yeast, grain, ripe banana and lemony citrus. Balancing sour and sweet components. Good but subtle aftertaste Aroma - weissbier with yeast, citrus and noticeable hops. Not inviting. M - light; smooth. Overall: easy drinking. Good thirst quencher. Neither bold nor complex. Not recommended for those who do not like a strong citrus component

can to glass that poured a slightly cloudy yellow with longer lasting white head. wheat, clove, banana and straw in the nose. the flavor is more of the same, some spicy wheat, clove and banana a typical weisse bier. nothing really outstanding just a decent overall flavor and drinkable.

Wheat and bready malt in the nose and maybe a little musty fruit. Dark golden, slightly cloudy pour. Wheat and malt dominate the taste with some faint fruity notes. Light body with active fizz. Slightly watery with a dry finish.

Pours a cloudy orange-yellow with medium foaming white head that rises and falls quickly, leaving some lacing. Lovely aroma of esters, mild lemon, cloves and peach. Initial taste does not deliver much of that, but grass and coriander assert themselves along with minor banana note. Aside from mild tartness, there doesn’t seem to be much happening. That changes as it warms and some of the notes from the nose make their way to the palate, and the mouthfeel develops the gentle frothiness promised by the first surge of the head. The mixed profile, a bit heffeweis, a bit saison, means the taste isn’t strongly any one thing. But the good nose and feel make this a very nice choice.
