COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Porkslap is a new interpretation of the English Pale Ale with a hint of fresh ginger spices (and without their tendency toward cross dressing). Its balanced, not overly bitter, easy to drink and incredibly refreshing. We brew PorkSlap with two row barley and a little chocolate malt for color. It pours orange and crystal clear with a frothy white head. If your nose is working, you might get a little malty whiff that soon gives way to pure thirst quenching goodness and happy satisfaction. The finish is clean, crisp and dry, and it plays really nice with spicy food like tex-mex, bbq or hot wings. Go ahead. Slap that pig.

I dont feel its necessary to describe the flavor here. You know what it is, its a pale ale, done badly. Do you need a description to imagine what that tastes like? As if you hadnt had enough bad pale ales already, this is yet another one of them.

12 oz can served in standard pint glass. (From 2010 notes) A - nice copper color with light tan head. Head is short-lived but leaves partial top coat and side lacing. S - sweet floral malt with mild hops T - Crisp, smooth and malty. Brewery reports that this "beer is flavored with crystal hop and a touch of fresh ginger"; the ginger (thankfully?) is just barely detectable. Citrus and caramel notes are more obvious. Nice progression of tastes and lingering finish. M - a bit light. Well carbonated. An interesting and malty but well-balanced PA "brewed with 2 row N. American barley and English crystal malt".

Appearance- murky amber, a golden base, one-finger beige head which lasts. Aroma- lots of bready malt, cereal, hints of dark fruit, hoppy hints. Taste- creamy malt, toasty, cereal and grains, wheat, soft fruity hops. Not much sign of the ginger.

Nothing particularly bad about this beer but its quite boring. The only hint of ginger I get dries out the beer the flavor has little hops. Just eh.

355ml can. Clear, amber colour with average, thick, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Weak caramel malty aroma, a mild touch of red berries. Taste is minimally sweet malty, slightly bitter hoppy, cautious hints of re berries, a minimally soapy touch of ginger. Quite expressionless, thirst quenching; ordinary mineral water would do as well.

Malt in the nose with some mild hops at the end. Light reddish golden pour with small foam. Light bodied with strong fizz. The caramel malt is up front and the finish has a slight hoppy sour bitterness. Some spice appears after some time. Sampled at Wurst Party Ever 7 November 2015.

Pours from can orange amber with huge off-white head that slowly recedes leaving lace and skim. Froth is ginger and chalk, masking other aromas. Once it diminishes, theres also a whiff of burnt waffle. Palate mixes bitter, caramel, herbal and leather notes. Nice finish, crisp and dry, but this needs to play off food.

Cimbasso (805) - - JUL 9, 2016
Sampled on draught at The Horseshoe in Hampstead. A dark golden colour with a white head. It has some of the maltiness of an English bitter, but with slightly unexpected hints of chocolate and caramel. Some notes of spruce, ginger and leather and a mildly bitter finish. A little bit underpowered, but quite an interesting take on an English-style beer.
