Served as Helles at the brewpub. Draught. Hazy deep golden coloured. The aroma is malty and bready with plenty of hop aromatic notes. Fresh and hoppy flavour on a very solid malty background. Fruity and lingering slightly bitter finish. Extremely soft and smooth mouthfeel. Very well balanced. Excellent. It was perfect with Sauerfleisch. YogiBeera (2569) - New Jersey, USA - MAY 1, 2006
On tap at the brewpub and ..with Sauerfleisch which I can really recommend! Golden color - a bit hazy with a small head on top. Light but long lasting hops, citrus nose and taste. Some malty intervalls. A bit edgy but very good. Maria (10211) - Thisted, DENMARK - AUG 25, 2009
Draught at the brewpub. It is slightly hazy golden with a huge, creamy and lasting head. The aroma has notes of newly harvested grain, light straw and butterscotch. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of flower, newly harvested grain, straw and the finish is slightly dry with notes of citrus. It is a very, very nice pilsner indeed! pivo (2685) - GERMANY - APR 30, 2006
Fresh grassy, lager nose - rough and raw already. Hazy gold color, foamy head. Creamy malt, a hint of berry fruits even. Broad dull bitter across the mouth. Gritty feel. Like a Kellerbier really. Like the freshness of this right from tap at the brewery. vinivini (2541) - Gomel, BELARUS - AUG 13, 2013
Probably I’ll never drink it again. From the remembering: deep golden a bit cloudy. Malt, spice & citrus in aroma. medium body/ light bitter & light sour taste. Came somewhat weird to me in those days. Now I know, it was just very special.

(Hand bottled at the brewhouse by the great Yogi_Beera – thanks Nat!) Hazy, beautiful yellow pour with no head whatsoever. Down to earth, raw citrusy & sour aroma with maybe some flowery hops in it - but just maybe. Flavor is fruity/citric and above all - sour. Finish is dry & bitter. This has obviously degraded during the trip to Finland and I think it’s not what it should be. Nevertheless there’s a certain wonderful Farmhouse-feeling in this beer I like. Refreshing and very drinkable. MiP (15920) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - MAR 3, 2007
Draught at the brewpub. Fruity aroma with sweet aroma hops. Cloudy orange colour. Creamy, stable white head. The flavour is quite fruity with some yeast. Rather sweet also. Has nice and fruity aroma hops and good bitterness. Not a pils IMO, but a nice Helles. fonefan (49548) - VestJylland, DENMARK - JAN 9, 2009
Draught @ Bruxtehuder Brauhaus, 21614 Buxtehude, Niedersachsen, Germany.MoritzF (9959) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - APR 25, 2006
[ As Buxtehuder Helles ]. Clear medium yellow color with a average, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, light to moderate hoppy, citrus, grapefruit, buttery notes. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [ Good BEER Guide Germany #732 ]
(refilled bottle) Hazy pale golden colour with a small white foam. Moderately sweet malty nose with a fruity (honey) note and aromatic hops in the background. Bitter and slightly sour-fruity flavour, light body, medium carbonation, soft mouthfeel. Slightly sweet malty taste with hops and a distinctive yeasty citric fruitiness; medium dry, slightly bitter and fruity finish with a floral hoppy note. Quite tasty and refreshing fruity Zwickel-Pils. Thanks a lot to Yogi_Beera and pivo for this hard to get gem ! yespr (45709) - Copenhagen O, DENMARK - JUL 20, 2010
From tap at the brewpub as helles. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is sweet and mild fruity. Rather sweet malty flavoured with a subdued bitterness coming through. Ends sweet rather than dry and bitter.
